The Clarks and the Newmans, a detailed look into the families in Black Doves
The Newmans are introduced first in the series in a flashback scene involving Sam several years before the main event. Sam kills three out of four Newman brothers who are about to make a name for themselves in the drug industry.
The Clarks are a much bigger conglomerate based in London with international ties and connections in several countries, including the US. Alex Clark is the head of the Clark family mob, but at the end of season 1 is killed by Sam. Her son Trent Clark is not a prominent figure in the organization but is the main reason behind several deaths throughout the series.
Sam spared Hector Newmans' life in Black Doves
Sam let Hector Newman live in Season 1 and didn't pull the trigger on him because he was a child then, and Sam didn't want to compromise his moral code as a hitman. When Sam returned to London after years, Hector was already making a profit in the drug ring and had expanded his business. Apart from Hector, season 1 shows no other Newman, which might indicate that Hector is the only one living in the family.
On the other hand, Trent Clark is why the story unfolds in the series and behind the killing of Maggie, Phillip, Stephen, Chen, and Elmore. Trent's hands are far too much into the blood. Since Clark is intentionally known, there will likely be another prominent Clark who might become the main villain in season 2.
