A spy action, Citadel: Diana is an Italian series grounded in the American series Citadel. Available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, the series dropped on October 10, 2024.

Directed by Arnaldo Catinari, Citadel: Diana is about Diana, a double agent working for the covert global spy organization Citadel. Diana sneaks into a criminal organization called Manticore to get revenge for her parent's death.

Citadel: Diana is set in 2030, years after Manticore destroyed Citadel. While working for the enemy organization, Diana ends up falling for the heir of Manticore. In a world where deception is the norm, Diana continues to work on her mission.

While the series was filmed mostly in Italy, Switzerland was the only place the show was filmed apart from Italy. The locations were Sicily, Lombardy, Rome, and Ticino, Switzerland. The following list contains specific locations within the regions where the series was filmed.

1) Baglio di Scopello, Sicily

The series was shot in Sicily in Baglio di Scopello, located in the village of Scopello. Baglio di Scopello is a historic area with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. The area was once a historical farmhouse.


2) Cretto di Burri (Crack of Burri), Sicily

Located in Gibellina, Cretto di Burri, also known as the Crack of Burri or II Grand Cretto, is a landscape artwork made by Alberto Burri. It was inspired by the old destroyed city of Gibellina but was left unfinished. In the series, audiences see Diana in her action scenes firing gunshots while zip-lining over Cretto di Burri.


3) Lombardy

In Lombardy, the series was filmed in Lake Como and Milan. Located in Lombardy in northern Italy, Lake Como is a beautiful lake surrounded by the Alps. Lake Como is the third largest Italian lake, known for its stunning scenery, artistic and cultural spots, and nearby villages.

Since Citadel: Diana is set in Milan, many scenes of the series have been filmed in locations across Milan. Milan is a metropolis in Lombardy and is known as a financial hub.


4) Palermo, Sicily

The capital of Sicily, Palermo, is known for its culture, history, architecture, food, and many UNESCO World Heritage sites. Many scenes of the series were shot in Palermo, including in Mondello. Mondello is located by the sea and 10 km away on the outskirts of Palermo.


5) Ticino, Switzerland

Audiences may be able to spot many scenes of Citadel: Diana shot in Ticino as the series was filmed across Ticino in Switzerland. Scenes from the series were filmed in Lugano, Mendrisio, and Saint-Gotthard Massif.

Lugano is the largest town in Ticino, known for its sacred buildings, villas, and flora. Mendrisio is in the southernmost district of Ticino, known for its iconic historical structures. Saint-Gotthard Massif is a hill range located in the Alps of Switzerland.


6) Rome

Located in the region of Lazio, scenes of Citadel: Diana were also shot in Rome. Rome is known for its history, which goes back 28 centuries, along with ancient ruins, historical monuments, and the Vatican City.
