What to expect from Chicago P.D. Season 12 Episode 16?
The upcoming episode revolves around a shootout that takes place at a diner. The preview depicts how coincidentally, Detective Kim Burgess used to frequently visit the restaurant where the incident happened. After four people are left dead, District 21 is called upon to investigate the case and look for the perpetrators.
Kim knows most of the victims, as they had also been regulars at the eatery, just like her. However, she either seems to be hiding something or is too shocked to investigate as Adam Ruzek gives her a wake-up call and asks her to remember everything she knows about the diner.
What happened in the previous episode of Chicago P.D.?
Chicago P.D. season 12 episode 15 revolved around a fatal shooting that killed a bus driver, leading Intelligence to investigate a violent gang war. While Hank Voight was focused on getting justice, the sister of another victim expressed her distrust of the police, frustrated that they could not protect her community.
Meanwhile, Kiana Cook stood out in an undercover operation as she used her quick thinking and bravery to take down a dealer. Her partnership with Dante Torres continued to grow, and their team-up became a highlight of the episode.
At the same time, Reid continued to use his influence with the authorities, which made Voight uneasy. He even showcased his control over the legal system when Kaiden, a suspect who had refused to talk, was pressured into confessing by a corrupt lawyer working for Reid.
The case took a tragic turn when the grieving sister was also killed. In the end, Voight confronted Reid for his twisted methods. However, the Deputy Chief openly admitted that he controlled both criminals and law enforcement to serve his own interests. Voight still has not figured out a way to tackle Reid, which forms the premise for the rest of the season.
