Thankfully, Office Cook was at the location, and she immediately called for help and asked the injured people not to lose consciousness.
The man Gregory Miller can be seen as badly hurt, his head and leg building, while he's trying to inform Cook about the kidnapping of his family. Cook continued to ask him what happened, but Travis could only speak a few words and had some cash and jewelry as the ransom to save his wife and children.
Cook promises Miller to find his family and takes on the quest in Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 9. It's later revealed that the man couldn't survive due to the injuries and the kidnappers have already killed his wife, leaving his kids in danger.

The situation became even more tragic when they found out that it wasn't just about money, but another big reason— Gregory Miller's wife was having an affair with one of the kidnappers. The case continues to get complicated but Cook doesn't give up.
In a personal twist, she was also seen taking help from her mother, with whom she hadn't talked for almost three years. Her mother grants her money on one condition— she must attend a charity gala.
As tensions rise, Kiana Cook's interrogation skills are highlighted. She's finally able to solve the case and the team even rescued the kidnapped girls. Now that their parents have died, Miller's brother steps up and takes responsibility for the little girls. The episode ends with Cook solving the case and encountering personal struggles.
