Chicago P.D. Season 12 Episode 19 "Name Image Likeness" kicks off with Officer Cook jumping into action after a deadly robbery at a jewelry store, pushed by her partner Torres, who was supposed to stay in the car due to an injury, but ends up tackling a fleeing man anyway.

That man, initially suspected, turns out to be a drug user who just came in after the shooting, not one of the actual criminals. Surveillance footage and his story match: three masked robbers entered, shots were fired, and two escaped.

The case quickly escalates in the Chicago P.D. Season 12 episode when one of the suspects is identified as Amir Jackson, a college basketball star with a messy past. It turns out the crew has been involved in previous smash-and-grab robberies, but this is their first one where someone was killed.

The stolen getaway car leads the team to Ruby Rios, a dancer with a criminal record who tries to distance herself from Amir, but social media gives her away. When Voight confronts her, she demands money in exchange for information.

Eventually, she admits she lent her car to Damone Russell, another high-profile college athlete with big NBA prospects. The team suspects he’s involved, but political and legal ties make him difficult to touch.

Cook offers a solution—turn Ruby into a confidential informant. At first, Ruby plays along, luring Damone into conversation. But then she disappears with him, lies to the team, and fakes motel records to cover her tracks. It becomes clear that Ruby sees Damone as her escape from her current life and is willing to betray the team to protect him.

Cook decides not to back down like she always has in Chicago P.D. Season 12

Despite being manipulated, Cook doesn’t back down. She tracks Ruby and Damone’s movements, uncovers discarded evidence in the river, and proves that Damone was the one who actually pulled the trigger in the jewelry store shooting.

With solid proof, both Damone and Ruby are arrested, and not even a high-profile lawyer can save them now. While Voight avoids rubbing it in, he reminds Cook how unpredictable informants can be.

At the end of Chicago P.D. Episode 19, Cook also makes a personal decision. Reaching out to her estranged mother after a long avoidance. The case, though messy, pushes Cook to grow both professionally and emotionally, marking a pivotal moment in her journey on the force.
