Celebrity Bear Hunt Episode 4 Recap: Second elimination results in increased tension among the participants

Netflix aired Celebrity Bear Hunt Season 1 on February 5, 2025. The competition series features celebrity contestants, including Mel B, Boris Becker, Big Zuu, Shirley Ballas, Joe Thomas, Danny Cipriani, Una Healy, Leomie Anderson, Lottie Moss, Steph McGovern, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and Kola Bokinni.

After Leomie was eliminated earlier in the competition, the fourth episode of Celebrity Bear Hunt featured the second elimination. Later on, Boris had to leave the competition because of his injury.

Further in the episode, an individual task divided the contestants into two groups, which resulted in a team being sent to the Bear Pit the next day.

Celebrity Bear Hunt Episode 4: Participants were divided into two teams after the "Walk the Plank" challenge

The fourth episode of Celebrity Bear Hunt, Where Did Being Nice Get Me?, picked up where Bear Grylls chased Kola in the Bear Pit. However, before he can catch him, the task ends. Soon, the rest of the participants at the base camp spotted Una running out of the Bear Pit gate. Everyone cheered for her.

As for the caught celebrities, they went to the Bear Pit Court. It included Laurence and Danny. Despite admiring Laurence's spirit and willingness, he was eliminated from the Celebrity Bear Hunt.

"I have learned so much from this experience. I can still be brave, and I can still take on challenges, and I can still push myself. I can survive," confessed Laurence.

Next day on Celebrity Bear Hunt: The task that divided the participants

The next morning, Celebrity Bear Hunt star Shirley saw a note with a paw mark and a dagger attached.

"Meet me at the swamp for the Walk of the Plank," read the note.

Boris then shared the sprain on his ligament with everyone. He was advised to "stop" by the medical team, and he left the competition show. After Boris's emotional and unexpected exit from the show, the next challenge was waiting for the participants.

"So now there's nine celebrities left, and they're all about to walk the plank here at the swamp," stated the host.

The next challenge on Celebrity Bear Hunt was "Walk the Plank." They had to get from one side of the swamp using the planks. After reaching the other side, they had to raise a flag. The twist was that it was not a team task but an individual one.

However, they were allowed to form allegiances and even ask for help from fellow contestants.

"Because whatever you do, make sure that you make it to the other side and raise your flag because there are only five flags. That means the four of you, you'll be going in the Bear Pit tomorrow," stated the host.

Teams formed without any particular order while discussing how to proceed with the task. Steph, Shirley, Joe, Kola, and Danny were there against Lottie, Mel, and Una. Celebrity Bear Hunt star Zuu, without choosing for himself, was automatically in the second group.

Both the teams started the task and were divided on using the long planks. While the second team was behind, they tried to follow the path of the planks that the first team had formed.

Soon, when they needed the planks, and Steph got one of the planks on which the second team was walking, Zuu did not appreciate that.

"I just had to do what I thought was right in the moment. He might've pushed me off. I don't know what he was gonna do. He wanted to win," confessed Steph.

Celebrity Bear Hunt star Kola was the first to cross the swamp, followed by Danny, Shirley, Joe, and Steph. The first five celebrities then raised the polls with the flags and won the challenge. However, Zuu mentioned that it was not "fair and square."

As a result, Mel, Zuu, Lottie, and Una were going to the Bear Pit the next day. The tension rose after reaching the base camp as the participants felt divided into two groups, and Zuu was quite vocal about it.

"I was doing the friendship ting. Where did being nice get me? Nowhere, bro. There is no more friendship teams. There's none of that," Zuu shared.

Celebrity Bear Hunt: Losing teammates - Mel, Lottie, Una, and Zuu at the Bear Pit

The Celebrity Bear Hunt host arrived for Mel, Lottie, Una, and Zuu's Bear Pit challenge. She explained about the three exits and to stay alert and away from Bear Grylls and the traps he had set.

Zuu was heading for the tunnel exit; however, the keys were hidden in a timed trap. Mel was also headed towards the same exit. Una chose to go to the 4x4, where the tool was near the Caiman Pool, which was filled with crocodiles.

Lottie found a tool stash on her way to the ladder. However, she didn't know which size of the blocks was required for the ladder. Still, she took some of the pieces with her in the bag.

Soon, Bear spotted Una, but he stayed hidden. She then came across a cage that had a time-trapped key inside it. She didn't know that those keys were not for the 4x4. She got inside the cage, which set off the time trap, and was trapped before she could untie the key.

While Celebrity Bear Hunt star Mel was lost and couldn't figure out the map, Lottie found the ladder. The planks she took with her randomly, two of them were the exact size of the ladder. However, she still needed two more. Hence, she went back to get more planks.

On the other hand, Mel and Zuu were headed for the tunnel exit, whom Bear spotted. But he stayed hidden. Lottie found more planks and was returning to the ladder. Zuu reached the tunnel and noticed it was locked and needed the key. It was inside the cage, and Una was trapped in it.

When Zuu searched for the key, he spotted Bear and ran from there. Hence, Bear's new target was Mel. Lottie tried to put in the planks, but they were not the right size, and she was exhausted.

"I really just, at this point, hope Bear catches me," confessed Lottie.

Zuu found the cage in which Una was trapped alongside the keys. She handed over all the keys to him. While returning to the tunnel, Zuu witnessed Mel being chased by Bear Grylls.

The Celebrity Bear Hunt Episode 4 also ended with a cliffhanger, as Bear was chasing Mel, which Zuu witnessed from a distance. The episode ended before viewers could witness whether Una was caught.
