Celebrity Bear Hunt Episode 3 Recap: Contestants face a new challenge and one of them finds himself in trouble

The third episode of Celebrity Bear Hunt aired on Netflix on February 5, 2025. The show features Bear Grylls and is hosted by Holly Willoughby. The third episode, Sink or Swim, featured a water-based task where two teams competed against each other.

One of the participants, Laurence, faced some issues in the water. Hence, he needed medical attention. As a result, he and his teammate, Kola, were sent to the Bear Pit, along with Una and Danny (from the previous challenge.)

The base camp witnessed an intense atmosphere after Kola was upset about his team's loss. In the latter part of the episode, four participants were sent to the Bear Pit, where two of them were caught, one escaped, and one contestant was still being chased by Bear Grylls when the episode ended abruptly.

Celebrity Bear Hunt Episode 3: "Rescue Rafts" followed by another Bear Pit Challenge

Celebrity Bear Hunt Episode 3 featured the rest of the celebrity contestants going for their turn at the challenge. However, Boris Becker could not do so because his knee was hurt and in pain.

As featured in the previous episode, Una and Danny were headed to the Bear Pit the following day.

"With Una and Danny already headed to the Bear Pit after losing their challenge, two teams are about to battle it out on the open water in our second challenge, "Rescue Rafts." It's Mel and Steph against Kola and Laurence. And Bear is quite literally dropping them off in the deep end," shared the host.

• Team Black: Kola and Laurence.

The participants were brought to Pandora Beach. The challenge was "the ultimate taste" of speed, endurance, and teamwork. The task was performed about 100 meters from the "safety of shore" in "shark-infested" waters.

Participants had to collect the supply bags and get them to the raft. After that, they had to release the raft anchors and pull them ashore. The bags were then supposed to be untied from the raft and gotten to the ending point. The task would end when the participants would set off their flares.

Soon, all four participants, Steph, Mel, Kola, and Laurence, jumped from the moving boat into the water. Mel got inside the raft while Steph was collecting the bags.

For the Black team, Laurence was trying to get to the raft while Kola went to get the bags. However, soon, the host witnessed how Laurence was struggling in the water. Seeing that, Bear Grylls jumped in the water and swam towards him. The safety team got Laurence out of the water and was given medical assistance.

"I couldn't breathe. It really was frightening. I mean, I really did think I was having a heart attack," confessed Laurence.

Even though Celebrity Bear Hunt star Laurence was getting medical attention and was out of the challenge, Kola continued with the task. On the other hand, female participants were about to finish the task.

Steph and Mel went to help Kola as he was alone. They returned to the task soon after Bear told them and set off the final flare, indicating their task was completed. Later, Kola struggled but finished the task and set off his flare. As a result, team Orange won, while team Black was sent to the Bear Pit the next day.

When they returned to the base camp, Celebrity Bear Hunt star Kola was upset that he was going to the Bear Pit because his team lost. When Mel mentioned how she and Steph helped him in the latter part of the challenge, he didn't like it and got upset.

Celebrity Bear Hunt Episode 3: Four contestants were sent to the Bear Pit

Holly came the next day for Kola, Laurence, Una, and Danny's Bear Pit challenge. There were three exit points, which could only be used once. While trying to get out of the Bear Pit, they also had to steer clear of Bear Grylls. Anyone caught by him is in danger of being eliminated from the competition.

"Bear has set timed booby traps on some of the tools. Trigger one, and they're on trouble," shared the host.

Celebrity Bear Hunt star Una planned to go for the dig-under-the-fence exit, where Kola was also headed. Laurence was going for the 4x4 exit. Danny set off two trip wires, which Bear noticed from a distance.

Later, Bear spotted Kola and followed him swiftly. While Una felt lost for some time, she found an axe, which she kept. Celebrity Bear Hunt's Danny reached the ladder exit, where he had to find a pack of missing rungs near the Caiman Pool.

Laurence found the 4x4 vehicle, for which he had to find four wing nuts to reattach the wheel. The location for those was quite far from the spot. While he was headed towards finding the wing nuts, he saw Una. She asked for directions for the fence exit, which he helped her with.

"There. Top of the hill. Yeah. Smells of wee. Sorry," said Laurence.

After reaching the fence, Una learned she needed a shovel, not the axe. It was located on the other side of the pit. However, she didn't want to leave the exit unguarded, so she started digging with the axe and her hands.

Bear stayed hidden while keeping the path in sight, waiting for someone to cross from there. Soon, Laurence passed from there and was caught by Bear.

"Second Bear Pit. Caught twice. I don't know whether I'm proud or ashamed," confessed Laurence.

Danny found the ladder rungs attached to a 30-second timed trap. He was caught in it after he could not get the rungs untied from the trap. Una got out of the Pit after she dug and struggled a lot. She called it the "hardest" thing she had ever done.

Only Kola was left in the Bear Pit, whom Bear spotted from a distance and followed him. Soon, he knew Bear was following him, so he ran. The third episode of Celebrity Bear Hunt ended with a cliffhanger while Bear Grylls chased Kola in the Bear Pit.
