Carême: Apple TV drops the official trailer, here's a sneak peek
The trailer opens with Antonin Carême biting an apple. As they establish the France of the era, a voiceover emerges that says
"Food is what makes a country, like its language, like its art, it's the first taste we know"
These words set the tone of the trailer along with its right pace revealing one shot every time while Antonin makes his masterpiece, gradually dressing the food. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of the charm of this character suggesting his several romantic interests.
The trailer also prepares us for the kind of skills the celebrity chef comes with as he ignites the dish on the table, burning it and making the guests panic before unveiling the actual dish underneath. He receives an opportunity to work with someone if he wants to be France's number one pastry chef. As the trailer mentions, the work is "delicate, dangerous, and top secret".
What did the maker say about Carême?

In the interview with Variety, the makers of the show admitted that they researched several other celebrity personalities to come up with the character of Antonin.
“We spent hours looking at photos of Lenny Kravitz and Mick Jagger,” says star Benjamin Voisin.
Lenny Kravitz and Mick Jagger are both legendary musicians known for their contributions to rock and pop music. The costume designer Pierre-Jean Larroque also never wanted to give a period drama-like costume to Antonin but something that highlight his charisma and makes him more appealing and seductive.
“I wanted to avoid the usual ‘period drama style’ and give Carême this sexy, rock’n’roll attitude, which Benjamin also has in real life. It doesn’t matter if the costumes aren’t always [historically] accurate – it was important to establish he’s a seductive man. Period dramas can be so clean: I wanted things to be dirtier.”
By looking at the trailer one can say that these ideas have truly come to life on screens, backed by intense storytelling and impactful performances.
