The Challenge 40 star Johnny Bananas invited fellow participant Kyland Young on his podcast, Death, Taxes, and Bananas. The duo discussed various "watery" tasks from the show's finale, swimming, and their eating and sleeping schedules.
Kyland Young, on Ringer Reality TV's Finale Part 1 episode, shared about how he had been handling the ups and downs of the game. Referring to the "social game element" and navigating through the competition, Kyland shared:
"I feel like that's for sure, I mean, you've, the social game element and dealing with it obviously for decades longer that it's just like you talk to people and just like, no, like you can't explain the circumstances that we're in, like, you don't...I feel bad even to someone whose like, I'm good at match and I can do the match in those situations but I'm like it's like whatever it is that you're thinking it's like not like that."
The Challenge 40: Kyland Young and Johnny Bananas discuss the constantly changing game and more
On January 4, 2025, episode of Death, Taxes, and Bananas, The Challenge 40 star Kyland Young recalled navigating through the challenges and how "things unfold."
"Sometimes people try to control everything, and they feel like they need to, and they're expected to be moving pieces all the time. Sometimes you just got to sit back and just let things unfold," shared Kyland.
Further in the podcast, The Challenge 40 star compared participating in the game show to "10 million combinations" from the game of Chess. He mentioned how, despite arranging "the whole game"
"If you try and plan out the whole game from the first thing, you can try and look a move or two, but like even then, you're forgetting that on a chessboard, all the pieces have rules that do not apply for every individual that's in these houses."
The Challenge 40 star Johnny then chimed in on the subject and shared how the reality show was "ever-evolving" and how it works:
"It's like in the game,it is just ever evolving it's not like, it's set in stone, set in place and this is how it's going to be the entire time, Right? I always look at it like I look at The Challenge, and I look at the way it moves like clouds in the sky. You look at the sky, and the clouds don't seem to be moving. They seem to be in the exact same place."
He added:
"But then, five minutes later, everything's in a completely different place, right? They look like they're in the same spot. They look like they're not changing, but they are, and it's like, and that's how The Challenge is."
Johnny shared about being on the "top of the mountain" one day, while the next day takes them to an "island," and there are "massive paradigm shifts" throughout the game. The Challenge 40 star added that "some people" can handle it while some couldn't.
