Apple TV's series Silo delves into a dystopian world set in a massive vertical underground Silo 18. The Silo is said to contain the last survivors of the world.

Directed by Morten Tyldum, the show is based on the book trilogy Silo by Hugh Howey. Season 1 & 2 are based on the first book of the Silo trilogy, titled Wool.

The show features Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson), a mechanic whose sole mission is to unravel the secrets of the silos and the world outside. The inhabitants of Silo 18 are often told by the strict authorities of the Silo that they are the only living people.

But could there be more survivors in the other silos of the world? As Apple TV's Silo delves into the history of silos and their controlled environment, there is a possibility that there might be other silos and survivors living in them.

What if there are other silos, each with its own rules, people, and secrets? This could take the Apple sci-fi Silo to another level, revealing new twists and turns and deepening the mystery behind the survivors of other silos.

Silo Season 2 premiered on Friday, November 15, 2024, on Apple TV+.

Silo Season 2 confirmed that there are more silos besides Silo 18, as shown in the scene where Juliette discovers Silo 17. Both the novel by Hugh Howey and the Apple TV series state that there might be around 51 silos. It seems highly unusual for a survivor to make it through. Even if all the silos were destroyed, there must be a survivor or two, much like Solo's survival during the Silo 17 rebellion.

Another interesting hint that there might have been other survivors from other silos is the discovery of an underground tunnel by Bernard and Lukas. In season 2, episode 9, while studying the layout of Silo 18, Lukas decodes a cryptic letter from Salvador Quinn, which includes a clue that leads to the discovery of the tunnel. As they discover a new tunnel, it raises several questions about where they are connected — the outside world or other silos?

Silo Season 2 gave us a look at Steve Zahn as Solo, a survivor of Silo 17, which Juliette discovered. When Juliette was on her mission to unravel the secrets of Silo 18, she saw entrances to other silos around her, after which she entered Silo 17, only to find Solo living in isolation. Through Solo, she finds out how Silo 17's inhabitants died due to a rebellion, which led to toxic air.

What happened in Silo Season 2 finale?

The end of Silo Season 2, Episode 10, titled Into the Fire, shows the rebels of Silo 18 and the upper-level forces led by Bernard (Tim Robbins) at war. The rebels succeed in their master plan of luring the upper-level forces into the lower levels. Confined to the lower level, Bernard's IT shadow, Lukas Kyle (Avi Nash), returns from the lower levels, where he finds the code in Salvador Quinn's letter.

Juliette returns and informs everyone that it is unsafe to go outside Silo 18. However, she is met with Bernard, who is furious after almost losing his authority. Juliette tells Bernard the secret of Safeguard, after which they get trapped in the incinerator, leaving their fate uncertain for the next seasons.

The ending takes us in a flashback to a time before silos existed. This plot introduces us to a journalist named Helen and a Congressman. While on a sweet date, Helen asks him about the Iranian radiological attack on the US. Before leaving the date, the Congressman gives Helen a gift — a PEZ dispenser with a yellow toy duck on top.

It would be interesting to see how the remaining seasons 3 & 4 will unfold, with so many mysteries to solve.
