After the release of 9-1-1's Season 8, Episode 14, it seems as if the show is set to kill off one of its main characters. This drama series surrounds firefighters, policemen, and paramedics in dangerous situations as they try and save lives. These are quite life-threatening jobs, but since its premiere in 2018, the show has avoided killing off any of its main characters. It cannot be said if this will stay the same by the end of part 2 of the two-part Contagion special.

The first of the two-part Contagion special of 9-1-1 was an extremely thrilling and emotional ride, and the trailer for the second part shows that it is going to be nothing less. Fans are looking forward to the second part, but the storyline in the first part and the depth of the character Chimney, played by Kenneth Choi, has caused the internet to go into a frenzy because of speculation that Chimney might be dying in the second part.

Here's everything that happened in this episode of 9-1-1.

Bridget Regan is known to cause chaos in almost every show that she is featured in, be it Batwoman, Jane the Virgin, or Agent Carter. So, it should be no exception that her presence on 9-1-1 would mean absolute hell for the 118. If the situation in the show does not improve in the next episode, she will also be responsible for the death of one of the major characters in the show.

Regan plays Moira in 9-1-1, a scientist who is conducting dangerous experiments on a virus. When her boss finds out that Moira is conducting reckless experiments on a virus that is referred to as 'Ebola's nastier cousin' causing it to strengthen alarmingly, he tries to stop Moira. This causes Moira to go from a reckless scientist into a villain with a revenge arc.

Moira sets her lab on fire and runs away, causing the 118 to be called to the scene. When 118 gets to the scene, there is a deadly explosion, which leaves many of our first responders injured. Hen has a collapsed lung, but Chimney, the person who can operate on her, is showing early signs of the virus and so cannot help. However, Chimney guides Bobby through the procedure, saving the day for now, but the problems don't seem to end.

No sooner does some light shine through the chaos, Chimney starts coughing up blood into his mask, which can never be a good sign. His symptoms appear to be worsening, and the responders find out that there's an unsanctioned cure for the virus. The army refuses to let the responders in 9-1-1 to use it without testing, but Ravi, potentially facing prison time, enters the password to open the safe for the cure, only to find out that it is empty. Turns out Moira, the red-haired renegade villain, took the cure with her on the way out.

So, to conclude, Hen just had life-threatening surgery done on him by Bobby, Chimney is barely hanging on to life, Ravi might be going to prison, and Moira has vanished into thin air with the only thing that can help save Chimney.

Is Chimney running out of time in Episode 15 of 9-1-1 Season 8?

Part 2 of the Contagion, Episode 15 of 9-1-1's Season 8, will in all probability feature the first responders searching for Moira in an attempt to get the canister from her that can save Chimney. The end of Episode 14 also featured a trailer for Episode 15. A fan who hadn't watched the trailer could believe that the good guys would win at the end and Moira would be found along with the canister saving Chimney(Kenneth Choi).

However, after the trailer for Episode 15, the future is not looking so bright. The 30-second trailer features Bobby stressing out in the conditions, saying:

"I've Got two firefighters down in here. What's the plan?!"

Episode 8x14 featured Chimney coughing up blood and showing signs of the early stage, but it appears things are going to get much worse before they get better, or if they get better. Chimney gets worse, moving into the second stage of exposure with infection and organ failure as clear symptoms of his worsening health. He is seen telling his teammates that:

"I'm running out of time."

The worst part of the teaser is Buck telling people that by the time they get around to getting the 118 members out from where they are trapped in the building, they might just be pulling out dead bodies. We see a firefighter falling down in a hallway beside a 118 helmet, as if one of them just died.

The only beacon of hope in this teaser is Bobby telling them that Athena is on the way to them with the canister that has Chimney's cure in it, but will she get there on time?

To make the suspense even more eerie, the narrator is announcing,

"Think you know the ending? You're dead wrong."

Only time will tell if 9-1-1 will actually be killing off one of its main characters. Additionally, it is not even completely clear that the character that gets killed off in Season 8, Episode 15, will be Chimney. (all thanks to the narrator's warning).
