C. Thomas Howell almost passed unnoticed in 1923 Season 2 and here's how the 80s star appeared on the Yellowstone spin-off 

Taylor Sheridan added another '80s star in his Yellowstone spin-off series, 1923 Season 2, who made a passing appearance in Episode 5.

Sheridan is famous for his collaborations with veteran superstars like Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, and Kevin Costner. In keeping with this tradition, he added another '80s A-lister, C. Thomas Howell, who debuted in 1923 Season 2 Episode 5 as a cowboy, Anders.

Howell's most famous roles on the small screen include SEAL Team, Ray Donovan, The Walking Dead, Obliterated, and Animal Kingdom.

Some of his famous movies from the 80s include E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Red Dawn, The Outsiders, The Hitcher, and many more.

C. Thomas Howell looks unrecognizable in a cowboy look for his 1923 Season 2 cameo

Continuing with his long list of veteran A-listers, Sheridan cast C. Thomas Howell, another 80s actor, in the 1923 Season 2.

Howell appeared in a brief cameo as Anders, a Texas cowboy for the ranch where Teonna Rainwater, Runs His Horse, and Pete Plenty Clouds ended up, while on the run in Episode 5.

Howell's Anders appeared in a typical cowboy look with a grey mustache, ragged look, and iconic cowboy hat, which made the veteran actor seem almost unrecognisable. Seeing Howell basking completely in cowboy glory for Sheridan's Season 2 would be a treat for his fans (after they finally recognize him).

While Anders appeared to be a harmless character who even gave shelter to Teonna and her running party, Marshal Kent and Father Renaud finally convinced him to give up the group's location, a significant turning point for Episode 5.

Anders' caving in resulted in the massive cliffhanger of Episode 5, in which Pete Plenty Clouds' fate is uncertain, and it is unclear whether he will survive.

Since Teonna and her party left Anders' ranch, Howell's second appearance on the show is unlikely, and it looks like he was only signed for a cameo role.

Another actor made her debut in the 1923 Season 2's latest episode

While Howell's Anders had a cameo appearance, another actress debuted in Sheridan's 1923 Season 2 Episode 5, who might have a bigger role in Spencer and Teonna's journey home.

American actress Jennifer Carpenter, who is most famous for her roles in Dexter and Limitless, appeared as a real-life US Marshal Mamie Fossett in Episode 5, who let Spencer go forward in his journey to Montana.

In an interview with Town & Country, Carpenter revealed how big a Sheridan fan she is and how she prepared for her character in 1923 since very little information was available about Mamie Fossett.

She was a US Marshal who laid the groundwork for active field work for women marshals and successfully brought some important witnesses through a five-day, dangerous trip in 1980.

Carpenter's Fossett appears to be a woman on the good side of the law, unlike other characters Spencer met on his journey. It was also hinted that she might help Teonna Rainwater and her party now that Father Renaud and Kent know her location. It would be interesting to see her role in the subsequent episodes.
