Bosch: Legacy Season 3, which is ten episodes long is ending next week as the seventh and eighth episode streamed on April 10, 2025. While the series is nearing its conclusion, the picture is still unclear. A month has supposedly passed since Jimmy Robertson’s mysterious murder, but the identity of the murder suspect remains unknown. This episode suggests the involvement of a drug cartel.

Harry Bosch in the sixth episode tells Chandler his belief that Robertson was assassinated, and is still investigating who the perpetrator is. Meanwhile, Detective Reina Vasquez and Maddie are closing in on the home robbers. However, Vasquez might not be suited to this case as it hits closer to home than she would like. The synopsis for this Bosch: Legacy Season 3 episode reads:

"Chandler comes under fire from the chief of police. Bosch works a Juan Doe case he thinks may be connected to another murder, while Mo tries to locate Finbar McShane. Vasquez confirms her suspicions, while Maddie continues working the follow-home case."

Bosch: Legacy Season 3 Episode 7 recap:

This Bosch: Legacy episode opens with the arraignment of Diego Perra.

Perra is charged

There, Perra waives his statement of rights, leading to Chandler formally charging the former with six counts of armed robbery, however, none of these charges include the murder of Jimmy Robertson. Police Chief Hughes tries to convince Chandler to add murder to the list of charges, but Chandler refuses because there isn't strong evidence suggesting his role in Robertson's killing.

Chandler suggests building a strong case using DNA evidence

After refusing to charge Perra for Robertson's murder, Chandler suggests that the police chief build an irrefutable case and suggests procuring DNA evidence. She also raises a valid question, why Diego Perra would hide the alleged murder weapon at his girlfriend's house, promoting the Assistant DAs to return at Perra's girlfriend's house after the sixth episode of Bosch: Legacy.

Vasquez discovers her nephew Albert's secret

Bosch: Legacy Season 3 introduces the character of Albert, Vasquez's nephew. Albert's girlfriend Victoria is a fence who goes by the name "Fortune". Vasquez confronts Albert as she suspects that he is one of the thieves. Albert denies it, but Vasquez tells him that she is going to find the third person and warns him to stay out of her way.

Later, she learns through her sister that Albert frequently pays a visit to their grandfather's house. There, Vasquez finds a box containing stolen jewelry, suggesting that Albert is the third thief in the gang.

Bosch discovers a new angle to Robertson's murder

Bosch shockingly discovers a new angle in this episode of Bosch: Legacy, that of cartel involvement. Harry receives information from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that on the night of his death, Robertson met an agent. Robertson wanted to learn from the agent about the wire chats referring to a substance called "black ice".

Bosch puts two and two together and realizes that Robertson was looking into the murder of the “Juan Doe” migrant, who was killed and dumped somewhere in South LA. The murder involved fentanyl and black ice, and the bullets that killed Jimmy were the same ones used in the Juan Doe case.

Bosch doesn't see this a coincidence updates Chandler about this latest discovery in the concluding minutes of the seventh episode, setting the stage for the last three episodes of Bosch: Legacy.

Episode 8, titled "La Zona Rosa", streamed alongside the seventh episode. The last two episodes of Bosch: Legacy will also stream on Prime Video together next week.
