Shark Tank's Jamie Kern Lima took to Instagram to address one of the DMs she received on the platform and shared a reel on February 6, 2025. The clip features Jamie talking about how a single mom reached out to her after attending one of the events where Jamie was.
She talked about how learning what we are worthy of it and how reaching towards those things makes everyone "VIP" of their own life. The Shark Tank mentor talked about how she felt after this single mom directly contacted her and shared her daughter's business with her. She also stated that she couldn't afford a VIP ticket, so she was reaching out to Jamie.
Expressing how everyone can be "worth" and "VIP" in their own life, Jamie captioned the video with the following:
"When you learn this ONE THING, it changes EVERYTHING in your life! And just like the mom I mention in this video, YOU have the power to decide that you are WORTHY of living your own VIP life. YOU were BORN for greatness and to be the VIP in your life!"

In a recently shared Instagram reel, Shark Tank mentor Jamie Kern Lima opened up about a single mom:
"So, I did a couple events last week, and I still have no voice, by the way. Still super sick. But I did a couple of events last week. So one of them, after the event, I was just on Instagram and reading DMs, and this mom reached out, a single mom of two daughters, reached out and said, "I wasn't one of the VIPs. I brought my daughter, who's 15, to the audience, and we couldn't afford a VIP ticket."
Shark Tank's mentor added that the single mom wrote her a letter mentioning how she wanted Jamie to know her daughter. She also mentioned that she and her daughter "took so much away" from Jamie's talk during the event and wanted to thank her.
Touched by the single mom's words, the Shark Tank investor shared:
"And I said, "Number one, everyone is VIP to God. That's number one. Number two, You're the VIP. Yes. Maybe some people can afford a VIP ticket, and that's awesome. But as a mom, you just went out of your way, took your time wrote me a letter on your daughter's behalf and shared her story with me."
Further, Jamie stated that she was already on that single mom's daughter's Instagram page and shopping from her business. Jamie also mentioned that she was happy that despite this single mom not knowing her, she took the time to write to her about the event she attended. Jamie stated that this mom was the "real VIP."
Further in the video, Jamie talked about how sometimes individuals might doubt themselves. She shared an example and stated how, sometimes, people walk into rooms and think they're not "qualified" to be there.
Shark Tank's mentor stated that she "loved" this thing that the single mom was teaching her daughter about the things that matter. Jamie talked about how the mother "directly" shared her side and her daughter's business.
