What has happened in Bookie Season 2 so far?
As mentioned earlier, Max has released the first episode of Season 2, perfectly blending humor into Danny’s personal and professional struggles. The story kicks off with Danny rushing back to his wife Sandra from Los Angeles to Modesto as she left him due to his struggling bookmaking business.
Sandra often felt her husband prioritized his work over family, and ended up leaving him with their son. Concerned about their relationship, Danny was on the way to his son and wife and was unexpectedly stopped by a police officer.
But he managed to talk his way out of trouble using his cleverness and of course bribery. Upon reaching Wendy's house, Danny apologized to Sandra but it fell flat. However, Sandra’s improving relationship with her mother results in an unexpected twist— Sandra agrees to move back to Los Angeles with her mother Wendy.
Meanwhile, Danny’s partner Ray is facing his own problems. As seen in Bookie Season 2 Episode 1, Ray was at his grandmother's wedding and her new husband suddenly collapsed. Later when he woke up, the cryptic word “Mahanga” comes to his lips. The scenes also feature returning characters Hector and Lorraine, whose presence adds to the dramatic story.
The next day, Danny and Ray get back to their work, but this time Ray is accompanied by his infant son. This led Danny to think that this might affect their business, as they attend meetings with clients while carrying the bay with them.
