Bookie, a comedy series, has returned for another season on Max. The series is about old-time bookies Donny Colavito and Ray Mayfield, who run an illegal sports gambling business.
As sports gambling is legalized in Los Angeles, the two bookies try their best to keep their business afloat. This task becomes especially hard when Donny and Omar have to deal with unpredictable clients.
Television industry veterans Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay created the series. The cast includes Sebastian Maniscalco, Omar Dorsey, Vanessa Ferlito, Andrea Anders, Jorge Garcia, and Rob Corddry.

Recap of Bookie season 2 episode 1
Before we delve into where Danny and Ray stand in season two, let us see whether Frank made it out alive. Season two, episode one revealed that Frank was alive after he suffered a heart attack in the season one finale.
While Frank is still in the hospital, he is shown to be out of the woods for now. When Frank wakes up, he keeps repeating the word 'Mahnanga,' which turns out to be a word nobody knows the meaning of.
Episode two of season two sees Danny on his way to Modesto to win Sandra back. The latter stays in Modesto with her mother. The journey to win Sandra back turns out to be much harder than Danny expected.
While on his way to Sandra, Danny gets pulled over by a cop for speeding but gets away by bribing the officer. Trouble follows him to Modesto as he constantly gets interrupted by Sandra's mother while trying to make things right with her.
While trying to get through to Sandra, Danny is also interrupted by Anthony, who informs him that Danny's car is being towed. When Danny finds out that Captain Hook is towing his car, the two get into a fight that is ultimately stopped after Sandra pays Jethro's brother to leave.
Amidst all the chaos, Danny explains to Sandra that she knew what she was getting into when she married him. He states that she knew the consequences of his profession and the kind of person he was.
He further explains that even if he had a normal job, it still wouldn't guarantee that he would always be around for Sandra and Anthony. Sandra and Anthony, along with Sandra's mother, end up going back home with Danny.
What can viewers expect from Season 2 Episode 2 of the series?
In episode two of season two, audiences can expect to see Danny and Ray try to collect a soccer bet from an infamous drug dealer at Hector's request. Episode two will also see Lorraine take a spiritual business trip with Walt.
As season two progresses, audiences can expect to see Danny and Ray revisit some of the clever tricks they have up their sleeves. Audiences may get a chance to finally see if the two bookies will be able to save their illegal gambling business.
