While the episode was supposed to air on Friday, November 29, 2024, following its usual release schedule, the makers decided to postpone it for the next week because of the Black Friday sale.
Considering that the show has only two episodes left moving forward, the makers want high ratings for the show's finale episodes, thus pushing them off until next week.
Episode 17, 'Entitlement,' is expected to tie up the loose ends before the show concludes with Episode 18, the finale.
What happened in Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 16?
Episode 16 saw Frank butting out with Mayor Chase once again. However, as the show reached its conclusion, it was only fair that Frank also seemed to offer a genuine solution to the problem at hand.
Mayor Chase asked the Governor to send in the National Guard, which would mean declaring a state of emergency. Frank would have no authority to override the situation, and things would get messy if the National Guard clashed with the NYPD.
Frank's political disagreements required a one-stop solution, which he achieved by bringing in a written proposal allowing the NYPD to improve subway patrols (after Russo's incident) and other dangerous locations.
Elsewhere, Eddie and Jamie teamed up to find Badillo, who was caught smoking weed outside the police precinct. While it was wrong on Badillo's part, it would mean he would have to take a mandatory drug test, delaying his fishing trip with his partner's son.
However, everything gets sorted, and he gets clear when Jamie takes the fall and says he filed a false complaint against Badillo. While Eddie's partner is spared, Jamie receives a citation.
Meanwhile, Danny investigates the murder of an MMA fighter, and Erin works the case of Chris, a law student who gets wrongfully accused after his jealous classmate plants drugs in his bag.
