Besides the cast announcement, the cryptic video also includes references to Tuckersoft, an in-universe video game company that was prominently featured in the standalone interactive Black Mirror episode “Bandersnatch” as well as in the season 5 episode “Striking Vipers” among others.

The previous season of Black Mirror, which premiered in 2023, garnered a positive response among audiences and critics alike.

A major line of criticism revolved around the fact that the show has discarded its strict sci-fi technophobic root and has also featured episodes with horror and fantasy elements in it.

It is to be seen if Season 7 goes back to its nihilistic, techno-dystopic roots or creates a new concoction of genres to surprise the audience. As per sources, shooting for the new season is currently ongoing and will be available for streaming on Netflix sometime around 2025.

Seasons 1-6 of Black Mirror are streaming on Netflix.
