With the promise of riveting futuristic stories, Black Mirror is all set to return to the screen with Season 7 on April 10, 2025, on Netflix. The anthology series created by Charlie Brooker will be coming back with six spellbinding episodes this season. Every story in Black Mirror follows a dystopian world that is fractured by human emotions and advanced technology.

Black Mirror's upcoming season is one of the highly anticipated series on Netflix this year. The stellar star cast of Season 7 includes Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, Tracee Ellis Ross, Emma Corrin, Issa Rae, Peter Capaldi, Paul Giamatti, and Awkwafina. While speaking at Netflix’s annual Geeked Week festival, Brooker quipped,

“We’ve got an embarrassingly stacked cast.”

Brooker is also an Executive Producer on the show, along with Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. About the upcoming season, he shared,

“You can expect a mix of genres and styles…We’ve got six episodes this time, and two of them are basically feature-length. Some of them are deeply unpleasant, some are quite funny, and some are emotional”

Black Mirror will present six unique stories that revolve around the complexities of human behaviour and their relation to the constantly changing technological world.

While speaking about what to expect in Season 7, Brooker said,

“It’s back to basics in many ways. They’re all sci-fi stories — there’s definitely some horrifying things that occur, but maybe not in an overt horror-movie way. There’s definitely some disturbing content in it.”

One of the episodes, titled USS Callister: Into Infinity, will have a throwback to the Season 4 episode titled USS Callister, starring Jesse Plemons. The episode revolves around a video game programmer who invents a simulated reality where he embarks on a space journey as a captain. Brooker said,

“Fans of the show will recognize the cast of a certain spaceship from one of our episodes reappearing...We’ve done a sequel for the first time in Black Mirror history. Normally, I kill off all the characters at the end of an episode, (but) I kept some of ’em alive. I’m growing as a human.”
