According to the latest reports, Melissa Roxburgh, known for her role in NBC's supernatural drama Manifest, has opened up about how the show is different from her latest procedural series The Hunting Party. Manifest premiered back in 2018 and later was made available for streaming on Netflix.

The story revolves around how a group of passengers aboard a flight take off and land after five and a half years having gone through a brief phase of intense turbulence on board. Recently, Manifest lead star Roxburgh (who plays the role of Michaela Stone, an NYPD officer) has compared her supernatural drama with The Hunting Party which aired on January 19, 2025.

She mentioned in a statement to TVLine:

"Manifest was super sci-fi. I feel like we went into different worlds with Al-Zuras and the cloud coming at us in the airplane and the burning hands and all that stuff, voices in your head. The Hunting Party is a bit more grounded in reality despite it being a very high-concept idea about this panopticon, this place called The Pit. I kind of like it that there's no voices in your head."

Manifest centers on passengers from an estranged flight that returned to New York five and a half years later. Mysteries begin to surface around the members on-board as they start getting visions and callings that take them down on a dangerous path of revelations.

However, The Hunting Party is a procedural crime show where protagonist Bex (played by Melissa Roxburgh), a smart officer with the Bureau tries to hunt down serial killers along with her co-workers. Per ScreenRant, Melissa Roxburgh has compared Manifest to her NBC crime procedural The Hunting Party saying that the latter is closer to reality.

The 32-year-old star, while talking about her role as an FBI agent, Rebecca "Bex" Henderson, in The Hunting Party said jokingly that it is "a promotion" from her part as Michaela aka Mick in Manifest, per TVLine.

Roxburgh further pointed out subtle differences between the two characters saying that Mike is someone who seems disordered and is rather a "hot mess". On the contrary, Bex knows what she is doing and is "very intelligent - she is also really good at her job but is sometimes pulled back by fate.

Melissa Roxburgh's exact words were:

"When we met Michaela in Manifest, she was a hot mess. She was going through a lot and she kind of took a while to find her footing and be okay with herself. Whereas I feel like Bex knows who she is. She knows she's got her job. She's very intelligent."

She further added:

"I like that there are no more voices!"
