Love Is Blind Habibi debuted its season on October 10 on Netflix and Netflix MENA. Fans have flooded social media platforms since then, discussing every aspect of the show.
The show welcomed 20 singles into the pods to experience a mix of modern and traditional dating. Fans didn’t have to wait several days to watch their favorite couples walk down the altar, as the show released all 9 episodes at once.
However, the show ended with only one couple, Safa and Mohamma, tying the knot. Three couples reached the final stage of walking down the altar, with their family and loved ones present to witness the biggest day of their lives. But Chafiq and Dounia, and Asma and Khatab decided to take their time and involve themselves more outside of the show.
The fans garnered their opinions on this new version of Love Is Blind which consisted of both positive and negative reactions.
Some fans took to X, to criticize the male cast members specifically, as they pointed out them to be red flags. One fan took to X and commented:
"Lmao, I’m so invested in this show. These men display big red flags. The toxicity, jealousy, and display of wealth. They don’t want to be rejected because they believe that they have all the qualities these girls are looking for #LoveIsBlindHabibi"
Another fan pointed out Ammar and Karma's relationship and suggested that Karma should leave Ammar. (Ammar and Karma got engaged in the pods in the very first episode of Love Is Blind Habibi but parted ways because Ammar had a problem with Karma choosing dancing as a profession.) The fan commented:
"Fine men, jealous men, and problematic men like Ammar would ruin your life. Karma, please run for the hills #LoveIsBlindHabibi"
Another fan wrote, supporting Karma's decision to choose her passion over Ammar:
"I'm so happy Karma stood her ground and remained true to herself and her art till the end!!! Love her #LoveIsBlindHabibi #LoveisBlind"
One fan jokingly said:
"Simo is literally a Disney villain. Why did he insult Nour's perfume #LoveIsBlindHabibi"
Another fan wrote:
"I don't like to argue, if I say I don't like something you say okay" b**ch "Im the head of the house, she should never argue with me, the desicion in the end should be mine" Ammar stfu and just disappear #LoveIsBlindHabibi"
However, the show also attracted positive comments as fans appreciated the hint of Middle Eastern culture in the dating reality TV show. One fan wrote:
"I prefer the hugging and forehead kisses over the tongue wrestling that usually happens in the western LIB. #LoveIsBlindHabibi"
Another Love Is Blind Habibi fan wrote:
"#LoveIsBlindHabibi This show was an amazing idea actually. It is one of the rare windows into the arab world. We saw the good and the ugly. The rest of the world has no idea how diverse the arab world is, if you want to build bridges, these programs are actually great."
Which couple got married in Love Is Blind Habibi?
Love Is Blind Habibi premiered on Wednesday, October 10, and viewers saw another couple find their happily ever after through the show. Asma and Mohammad took the plunge, following the social experiment through and through, and took the final step of saying yes to marriage.
The couple connected in the pods from their very first date. Their vibe and sincerity towards finding a future partner served as common ground for them. Mohammad was swept off his feet after the first meeting with Safa. He said in a confessional after meeting her:
"I am in another world, Safa's world. My first date with Safa was amazing. She is so classy and so graceful. This is so strange, and her femininity...oof! I have never seen it before, I am hooked."
Love Is Blind Habibi couple got engaged in episode 2, and took from there, passing each hurdle, to reach their final destination, the altar.
Love Is Blind Habibi Season 1 has released all its episodes on Netflix. Fans who have yet not binged the show can go and enjoy it.
