In the latest episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, aptly titled "Rules o En-Rage-ment," Parsifal III’s crew found themselves in hot water with the Captain.
The reality series, which follows the professional and personal lives of yacht crew members during charter season, saw tensions reach a boiling point when Captain Glenn Shephard confronted several crew members about breaking his two-drink rule while socializing with guests.
With a dynamic crew that includes returning favorites Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and First Mate Gary King, as well as newcomers Chef Cloyce Martin, Chief Engineer Davide Morosi, stews Diana Cruz and Danni Warren, and deckhands Keith Allen and Emma Crouch, this episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht marked a turning point in Season 5, which has already churned out its fair share of drama.
In this episode, an ordinary night out with charter passengers swiftly turned into a furious altercation that even endangered the crew's valuable tip money.
What happened in this episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht?
When Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Captain Glenn found out that several crew members had gone over his strictly enforced two-drink limit while spending an evening with charter guests, the drama began. While deckhand Chase managed to escape the situation with only one beer consumed (a big huzzah for him), Gary, Keith, and Daisy were in the captain's crosshairs.
The truth about their drinking was revealed in a heated discussion. When confronted, Gary initially claimed to have consumed five drinks, prompting Captain Glenn's skeptical response:
"You being honest?"
A revealing flashback showed the First Mate downing 10 drinks throughout the evening. Keith admitted to "four or five" drinks, while Daisy owned up to having two drinks and two shots.
Frustrated by the blatant disregard for his rules, Captain Glenn didn't mince words.
"I don't want to take you guys' tip, but if I set a rule and I tell you guys what the consequences are and then I don't follow up, it's a f*cking free-for-all, isn't it?" he stated firmly.
The situation grew more heated when Gary defended himself, claiming they hadn't "abused the situation" and denied being drunk. This didn't sit well with Captain Glenn, who recalled shepherd crew members to bed at 2 AM. The tension peaked when Gary defiantly told the captain to take "100% from him," adding the snide remark,
"You clearly need the cash."
The confrontation highlighted the growing strain between Captain Glenn and his First Mate on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, with Gary's behavior raising questions about his professionalism and future on the yacht. While Daisy took a more diplomatic approach by apologizing for breaking the rules, Gary's combative stance threatened to create lasting ripples in the crew's dynamic.
The episode underscored the delicate balance between work and play in the yachting industry, where maintaining professional standards while dealing with high-paying guests often presents unique challenges for crew members.
