What happened on Below Deck Down Under Season 3, Episode 11?
On Below Deck Down Under Season 3, Episode 11, Captain Jason fired Johnny Arvanitis and Wihan Du Toit and welcomed their replacements within the crew. After Johnny and Sous chef Alesia Harris realized they had romantic feelings for one another, they decided to go on a date. However, things took a different turn when Alesia accidentally went to Wihan's bunk instead of Johnny's.
According to Alesia, Johnny misunderstood the situation, and his reaction made Captain Jason question his behaviour. During his confessional interview, the Below Deck Down Under cast member said:
“I don’t know what’s going on. I’m alarmed at this type of behavior. You can’t have it on the boat. This is not the Johnny I know.”
He confronted Johnny after he returned to the yacht from the hotel, stating that he had to leave the crew. Captain Jason elaborated that this type of "aggression" could not be tolerated. He continued:
“Look, you have worked so well, but punching walls and having that aggression, I can’t tolerate it, for the safety of the crew and us going forward. I have to let you go."
Johnny admitted to his mistake, sharing that he didn't like to see this side of himself after "so many years." He further elaborated:
''And for me, I don’t really belong here. So, no hard feelings. Thank you for everything you taught me. I don’t blame you. I don’t think you really knew what happened."
As for Wihan Du Toit, the Below Deck Down Under crew had complained about him and questioned his work ethic. Captain Jason noticed that there was negativity within the crew, and some didn't like Wihan's process of managing the team. When Wihan clashed with Harry, Jason confronted him about not taking "accountability for his actions." Meanwhile, Wihan felt blindsided by this decision and didn't predict something like this would happen.
