The White Lotus Season 3 Episode 7 featured a much-awaited confrontation as Greg, aka Gary, let go of his facade and admitted his real identity to Belinda. When Belinda first walked up to Greg in an earlier episode, he straight away lied about his past, claiming he had never seen her before.

Over the season, Belinda grew concerned about her life as she found out Greg was involved in Tanya’s murder. In episode 7, Greg called upon the spa manager for a private conversation and offered her a bribe to buy her silence.

Belinda faced a moral dilemma and rejected the offer initially, stating she needed more time to think about it. However, there is a high possibility that she might end up changing her stance in The White Lotus Season 3 finale after fearing for her safety and also because of the persuasion by her son, Zion.

Why Belinda turned down Greg's offer in The White Lotus Season 3

In The White Lotus Season 3 Episode 7, Belinda gets scared when Greg approaches her at his house party and proposes to have a private conversation at his home. Belinda knows Greg is a dangerous man who has killed his wife, but having no other choice, she agrees to his request.

During their interaction, Greg comes clean about his past, revealing that he did know Belinda from the start. However, he once again tries to cover up his involvement in Tanya’s murder, stating he chose to move to Thailand to live the rest of his days in peace, far away from the legal proceedings in Sicily, where his wife died.

Sensing that Belinda is not buying his story, he offers her $100,000, a bribe wrapped as a gift, to keep her mouth shut. He says this is what Tanya wanted, and even tries to emotionally manipulate Belinda by conveying she should take the money to honor his late wife.

However, Belinda is aware of Greg’s real intentions. She does not want to be an accomplice in hiding Tanya’s murder, and goes into a moral dilemma about whether she should take the offer.

Ultimately, she tells Greg that she needs to sleep on it, and goes on to discuss the matter with her son. Greg, meanwhile, already seems to be planning his next move to keep her quiet.

Why Belinda might change her mind in The White Lotus Season 3

Belinda initially rejects Greg’s money, but she is still confused about what she should do. There are a lot of factors that she needs to consider before making up her mind. The deal is not just about money which could change her life, but also about her safety.

At the same time, her son, Zion, is also at the resort, and Greg could pose a threat to him as well if Belinda goes against him. The moment she returns to her hotel room after her meeting with Greg, Zion tells her to accept the money. He argues that $100,000 could change their lives, and this is something that she always wanted.

He also reminds her that Greg is a powerful man who will go to any extent to keep his dark secrets hidden. Hence, he feels taking the money is the only viable option. On the other hand, Belinda is not fully convinced, as she does not want to collude with a murderer.

However, considering how The White Lotus delves into moral ambiguity, Belinda could agree to take the money and end the Tanya chapter in her life for good. We have seen how protective she is of her son. Knowing that Greg could pull her life apart, Belinda might choose to suppress her morality and make a practical decision to save herself and her son in The White Lotus Season 3 finale.
