The White Lotus Season 3 has proved that life does come full circle. It has, at least for Belinda, who returned to the series after previously getting a heartbreaking ending in the first season’s finale.

Things did not look good for Belinda in the third chapter, too, as she was constantly under the watch of Greg, the murderous husband of Tanya. However, contrary to expectations, the spa manager not only made it out alive, but also hit the jackpot.

In the first season, Belinda was left disappointed when Tanya did not live up to her promise of investing in her spa business, and instead chose to run away with Greg. In The White Lotus Season 3, Belinda mirrored Tanya’s actions as she shattered Pornchai’s dreams of opening a wellness center together, and left Thailand with $5 million.

Belinda left Pornchai high and dry in The White Lotus Season 3 finale

After going through a hard time in The White Lotus Season 1, Belinda returned to the show in Season 3, seeking a three-month training at the resort in Thailand. However, she realized she might have to face a hard time again when she encountered Greg, who now went by the alias Gary.

Amid concerns about her safety, Belinda found solace with Pornchai, a staff member at the resort. As the two grew close, Pornchai confined in Belinda and proposed to open a wellness center with her, to which she agreed.

However, in the penultimate episode, Greg offered Belinda $100,000 as a bribe to keep mum about his crimes. While the former spa manager initially rejected the offer, her son, Zion, convinced her to bluff Greg.

In The White Lotus Season 3 finale, Belinda showcased a different side of her personality as she played along with Zion to trick Greg and extort $5 million from him. With their newfound riches, Belinda and her son chose to leave Thailand right away.

She informed Pornchai about her decision hurriedly, stating she had a change of plans. The resort staff member was left high and dry, as his dream of opening a wellness center was shattered.

How Belinda’s actions are a reflection of Tanya’s storyline in The White Lotus

The whole Belinda and Pornchai situation in The White Lotus Season 3 finale was a callback to the Belinda and Tanya story in Season 1. The only difference was that Belinda was on the other end this time.

In the first season, Belinda had high hopes from Tanya, who promised to invest in her spa business. She worked hard to impress the lady, and even provided emotional support to her, hoping for a business partnership in the future. However, Tanya left her hanging in the finale as Greg convinced her to move away with him.

The theme highlighted that the rich in the show did not actually care about the feelings of the poor, and mostly remained in their bubble, concerned about their own issues. In the Season 3 finale, the idea was once again represented through Belinda, who happily left the resort and Pornchai as soon as she received $5 million in her bank account.

Just as Tanya overlooked her emotions in Season 1, Belinda ignored Pornchai’s feelings in Season 3. The storyline also demonstrates that no character in the show is perfect, and everybody has flaws.

Belinda became a fan favorite as she initially had no ill intentions, unlike the rest of the characters. However, she pulled off a 'Tanya' at the last minute, proving that all The White Lotus characters are morally ambiguous.
