Here's everything we know about the upcoming Apple TV show.

Before release date details explored

As mentioned earlier, Before will premiere on Apple TV on October 25. Following the premiere of the first two episodes, single weekly episodes will be dropped every Friday till December 20 since there are a total of ten episodes this season.

There has been no official confirmation regarding the possible renewal of this show for a second season. It is fair to say that the success and public reception of the debut season will play a determining role.

Billy Crystal has otherwise been known for feel-good comic roles. However, this time he is playing the character of Dr. Eli, who is a child psychiatrist ravaged by the trauma of losing his wife Lynn in the past. Eli is torn between the need to be in the present and the sway Lynn's posthumous memories have on him.

During the course of the narrative, Eli comes across a child who supposedly shares a link with Lynn's death. Eli then spirals down a maze trying his best to reconcile his past demons.

During a recent interview with Newsweek, Billy Crystal opened up at length about how memorable an experience it has been for him to be both the lead actor and the executive producer of Before. Speaking about his role, he added:

"Oh, I loved it. I loved every second of it because once we got to do it, having been part of the whole creative process, then you got to go play him after conferring with (show runner) Sarah (Thorp) on the scripts and working on the sets and all the stuff that you have to do. Then you got to play it, and it's time, and once we were fully cast and young Mr. Jacobi came into our lives, it was like kismet, it was meant to be."

Crystal then went on to speak about the experience of playing the leading role of Dr. Eli in a psychological thriller drama. He remarked:

"For me personally, I had an incredibly enlightened experience playing (Eli), very freeing, (I've) never had to play a character who was losing his mind in the way that Eli is, but while he's losing his mind, he's finding himself at the same time. And then all the inventions that Sarah and her other wonderful writers invented for me to do, for Eli to go through were - I don't know, I just kept giggling sometimes."

Before will be available to watch exclusively on Apple TV.
