The Daredevil: Born Again panel was one of the big highlights at the FAN EXPO San Francisco 2024. The panel featured actors Charlie Cox and Wilson Bethel, who play Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye respectively in the series. The actors spoke about their excitement for the show and shared a major update about the upcoming season of Born Again.
One of the questions asked by the Daredevil: Born Again panel moderator was how excited Charlie Cox and Wilson Bethel were for the release of the series. Bethel had a humorous anecdote about his excitement, while Cox's answer was more serious. He referred to the passage of time between 2018 (when the original Daredevil series aired its third and final season) and Born Again's release in 2025, and said:
"It’s been so many years since we released any Daredevil content. I’m really excited about it."
Charlie Cox and Wilson Bethel's Daredevil: Born Again panel in FAN EXPO San Francisco 2024, explained
While the panel might have been longer, the version made available by FAN EXPO on YouTube serves as a highlight reel of the event. In the panel, the actors are seen discussing a lot about their experiences with the original Netflix Daredevil series. Cox was asked about his response to the original series getting canceled in 2018. The actor compared it to a break-up, saying:
“In 2018 when the show was canceled, I suddenly had a breaking up period, a mourning period. We thought we were going to do a Season 4, and then that didn’t happen. Overnight we got a phone call that was like, ‘We’re done, it’s finished.’ It was quite shocking to think I’m not going to be that character. I don’t know what the word is, but it felt like a breakup in kind of a weird way. And then like all breakups, obviously we got back together. I had a lot of questions.”
One of the most exciting updates during the Daredevil: Born Again panel was provided by Charlie Cox, when he spoke about the show's Season 2. He said:
"By the time we release [Born Again] on March 4th, we’ll already be shooting Season 2. So, it’s just a gift that keeps on giving, really."
In accordance with what he said, Sana Amanat, one of Marvel's executives working on Daredevil: Born Again, posted an image on her Instagram account confirming the production of the second season.

Recently, it was revealed that Scream franchise's Matthew Lillard will be joining the cast for Born Again in Season 2.
What is Daredevil: Born Again about?
A revival of the Daredevil series, Born Again finally links the Netflix Marvel Universe to mainstream MCU. While the first season of Daredevil has ample references to The Avengers and the invasion of New York in the 2012 movie, the second and third seasons feel disconnected from the MCU. However, after the rights reverted to Marvel Studios, Daredevil, and the other Netflix Marvel characters will (probably) be included in the MCU.
Daredevil: Born Again introduces us to a new status quo. Matt has given up being Daredevil due to a traumatic event, and the political structure of New York has turned upside down as Wilson Fisk is the newly elected mayor. Making the situation worse is the rising threat of a psychotic Banksy-inspired muralist, Muse. These situations will force Matt to suit up as Daredevil again. The synopsis on the official Marvel website reads:
"In Marvel Television’s 'Daredevil: Born Again', Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course."
