Beast Games Episode 9 recap: How are the final 10 bribing their way to the finale?

The ninth and penultimate episode of Beast Games streamed on Prime Video on February 6, 2025. Titled "Bribe Your Way to the Finale", the episode saw the elimination of four players, Queen (817), Patrick (930), Michael (453), and JC (566). These four weren't able to convince the others to grant them a spot in the Top 6 that would've helped them continue into the finale.

In the ninth Beast Games episode, Donaldson revealed a new twist. The contestants were shocked to learn that they would be voting for each other to book their spot in the finale. Furthermore, they could bribe others to vote for them by using the money from the black box from the previous episode. But that wasn't the only surprising twist in this episode.

The official synopsis for "Bribe Your Way to the Finale" reads:

"The final 10 use all of their current winnings to bribe their way to the finals. Lying and deception are at an all-time high, making it difficult to trust even your closest allies."

Right in the opening, MrBeast delivered a gut-punch of a twist to the ten players. Out of them, only six would be eligible to contest in the finale and four would have to quit the game. They would have to vote for each other to choose who could advance and who couldn't. He also went on to reveal that players could bribe others to earn their vote with the help of the money from the eighth episode's black box.

The ten were given a telephone to communicate with a fellow contestant with who they had to formulate a strategy to reach the finale. JC Gallego Iori (player 566) was not pleased to learn that he needed to team up with others. In the previous challenge, he miffed the other players by choosing to take out $650,000 out of a million dollars, and therefore JC wasn't excited to collaborate with those whom he upset.

Out of the ten, the first player who was voted as a contestant in the finale of Beast Games was 937 (Emma). Then 831 (Jeff) was voted the second to be voted. He was ecstatic to reach the finale by saying:

"Thank you so much for the votes. I know that once I'm out I can't vote for you, but everybody who I spoke with, I called and advocated for you. I know the best six will get here and that's what I want."

After Jeff, 830 (Twana) was voted as the 3rd player by six out of eight voters. Meanwhile, 947 (Yesenia) bribed players 453 (Michael) and 817 (Queen) 7 grand and 2 grand respectively, and got voted into the next round of Beast Games. The fifth player to progress was 974 (Gage), who promised others to vote for them in the next round, but surprised people by not doing so. Now, only one spot was left.

The sixth and final spot is filled by none other than player 424 (Courtney), a player who did not strategize or bribe anyone. Her selection meant that 817, 930, 453, and 566 were out. MrBeast described her win like this:

"The person who won this round wasn't the one who strategized the best. It wasn't the one who made the most calls or the one with the most bribing power. It was 424, the one who stayed out of the phones and out of the drama."

But the Beast Games episode was not over with the selection and elimination rounds, Jimmy Donaldson had another trick up his sleeve. He surprised the six contestants with another $5 million. The players are required to flip a coin against Donaldson, where, the prize money of $5 million would be doubled if the players won the toss. However, all the players would be eliminated if MrBeast won the coin flip.

"Bribe Your Way to the Finale" ended on a suspenseful note as Gage opted to flip the coin. Gage flips the coin the screen cuts to black, ending the episode on a cliffhanger.
