The next episode will follow up on the premiere's shocking twist where Grace dies in a car accident. Eva, Bibi, Ursula, and Becka will now not only deal with their secrets but also the overwhelming grief of losing their sister.

Grace's death is a major blow to the sisters as she was just starting her life afresh after coming out of her abusive marriage. The trauma will completely change the rest of the sisters’ lives.

Meanwhile, Detectives Loftus and Houlihan are already suspicious of the group and are determined to find out the truth about JP's murder. They will be getting closer to uncovering the sisters' involvement with a warrant in hand.

Hence, after losing a loved one, the sisters will also have to deal with the threat of losing their freedom. In an interview with Variety, executive producer and director Dearbhla Walsh said episode 3 was challenging to make as it features Grace’s funeral. She said:

“Episode 3 was a really challenging one, to have an authentic funeral and then to transition across.”

Bad Sisters follows the lives of the Garvey sisters – Eva, Grace, Bibi, Ursula, and Becka — as they try to get rid of Grace’s awful husband, John Paul (JP). John treats Grace terribly, controlling her life and even manipulating their daughter, Blanaid.

The first season jumps back and forth in time, showing the sisters’ various attempts to kill JP, from a gas explosion to poisoning, though none of their plans work. In the end, Grace herself kills him, choking him after learning he had assaulted her sister Eva.

Grace and her neighbor Roger then stage his death to look like an ATV accident. The murder investigation starts when insurance investigators Thomas and Matt Claffin begin questioning each sister to avoid paying out JP’s life insurance.

The sisters eventually manage to fool the authorities, and Grace marries a man named Ian. However, Roger struggles with guilt and considers going to the police. Meanwhile, the sisters find a dead body in their car’s trunk, which turns out to be JP's father.

In the past, JP had hidden his father's body in a pond which somehow ended up in the sisters’ car, reopening the investigation. Detectives Loftus and Houlihan dive into the case, with Loftus under pressure to solve it before his retirement.

At the same time, Grace shares her dark secret with Ian, who then mysteriously disappears, making the sisters worried. Things take a turn for the worse when Grace dies in a car accident, which is going to leave the rest of the sisters heartbroken.
