The plot of Bad Monkey
Bad Monkey is about Vince Vaughn’s Andrew Yancy, a former Miami police officer who has been demoted to a health inspector job in the Florida Keys.
His life is pretty mundane until a severed human arm turns up. It was fished out of the water by some tourists. Yancy sees this as a chance to redeem himself and go back to his previous job of being a police detective.
Sheriff Sonny Summers tasks him with the job of delivering the detached arm away from Monroe County to Dade County. Seeing an opportunity to redeem himself and return to his old job, Yancy dives headfirst into solving the case.
The plot revolves around Yancy trying to find out if the arm is linked to something larger. This, he believes, might be his ticket back to the police force. However, nothing is ever simple in a murder case. Yancy must deal with several colorful and quirky Florida characters and an ill-tempered monkey along the way.
