Below Deck: Sailing Yacht season 5 has released the finale, where we saw Daisy Kelliger and Keith Allen kiss each other goodbye. The two were a thing during the filming of the show and promised to meet each other later in London. The two kept the promise and started dating.
However, Daisy and Keith have broken up on mutual terms. Talking to The Daily Dish about her relationship with him, Daisy said there were a few reasons they decided to call it quits. But the main reason was distance, as they had to be far apart.
It was not a bad breakup, as Daisy revealed that the two were still in contact and talking to each other. The mutual decision to split up came from their long-distance relationship after Below Deck.
Below Deck: Sailing Yacht stars Daisy and Keith's relationship explored
Daisy and Keith started their fling on Below Deck: Sailing Yacht season 5 when she claimed he treats her "right." Talking about Daisy, Keith said he always tries to avoid any romantic relationship in an environment where he has to work.
However, he couldn't hold back with Daisy because they see the world with a "similar lens." He revealed that the two had made a connection with each other, which made it even more "worth it." Keith said,
"Daisy is someone that I'm going to be in touch with for a long time, I hope."
The feelings between them were mutual because Daisy reciprocated the idea in a confessional of her own on Below Deck. She said,
"I think when you're younger and you're having fun, you put up with anything. But now I think I'm mature enough to realize I deserve better. I don't know what's gonna happen in the future. Maybe Keith and I will get married and have a baby ... I'm joking. That's definitely not gonna happen. But you know, we don't know."
The two, despite being broken up, are still in contact with each other. Previously, when they first started seeing each other, Daisy explained why she was attracted to him. She said that Keith is very "secure in himself" and "emotionally stable."
These qualities draw her towards him. Crewmate Gary is upset with this relationship because he has feelings for Daisy. But despite that, the two made it out of the show and are still in contact with each other.
Below Deck: Sailing Yacht - Drama between Daisy and her stews
The season also highlighted the drama between Daisy and her stew, Danni and Diana. The two of them do not have a good relationship with their former boss, and they left it after Below Deck. Talking about the same with The Daily Dish, Daisy said,
"I do not speak to Danni and Diana. I wish them the best in their future endeavors but we did not leave the boat as friends and I have no interest in being friends with them and I think it’s safe to assume the feeling is mutual."
Daisy says that her biggest mistake in the season on Below Deck was trying to be friends with the girls. She says watching the show back is a huge "learning experience," as Daisy thinks she should have been more "authoritative." She said,
"I think unfortunately my lack of stern leadership allowed a toxic energy to filter throughout the boat. Every year I learn something new and strive to become a better leader, manager, and crewmate."
