The Big Bang Theory continues to be a cultural sensation long after the show came to a close back in 2019. What made The Big Bang Theory such a raging success was undoubtedly the memorable camaraderie among its recurring characters in addition to the marvellously written scenarios in the screenplay. The Big Bang Theory reigns supreme in terms of fan loyalty to the extent that getting together all of its primary cast members for an interview is indeed a big deal.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had this honor when, in May 2019, it got the entire cast of the show together for an interview. Here's everything that we know.
What did The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki say about co-star Kaley Cuoco?
The entire cast of The Big Bang Theory, including Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, Simon Helberg, and Mayim Bialik, were in attendance at the interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. As a part of the show's sketch, the cast members were told about the questions that each of them had previously anonymously submitted to be asked to each other on the show.
Stephen Colbert started the round off by stating that Galecki had once described himself as a theatre rat. He then asked that if Galecki were to identify his co-star Cuoco as a professional animal, then what would that be? Galecki humourously answered:
"An Arabian pretty horse. I don't know horses"
The entire cast, including Colbert, burst out laughing at Galecki's answer. Colbert then moved on to ask Cuoco about the alleged rumour that never once in the twelve years of the show's production was she found reading her lines from the script.
The Big Bang Theory stars open up about each other
Despite the show coming to and end, the cast of The Big Bang Theory have mostly stayed on friendly terms with each other. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly back in May 2019 the cast members were asked about their first impressions of each other. Kaley Cuoco was the first to answer:
"At the audition I saw Jim sitting there by himself, and we were the only two there. He was very quiet and had a BlackBerry in his hand, playing with it. He looks at me and said, "You don't know how to work this thing, do you? I just got it." He was very cute how he said it. I thought he could totally play Sheldon. Charming and innocent."
Jim Parsons followed up with his answer:
"I already knew who Johnny was from Roseanne. That was weird because I don't think I've ever auditioned alongside someone I had seen act before. I read with other people, but it was very clear that no one else was making the part their own more than Johnny did. He knew what he was doing and was doing it in a strong way. I didn't feel like he needed my help. I didn't feel like he was bleeding into my work. He was his own distinct thing."
Johnny Galecki was the next to answer:
"We all thought Kaley was the coolest person in the cast. As soon as we were done with rehearsals or the live audience, she was like taillights. We all assumed she had much better social plans than we did. Maybe a year in, she started spending more time with us offstage and confessed she had nowhere to go. She was maybe going to ride her horses, probably."
