Apple TV+ has just greenlit a new series called The Husbands, starring Juno Temple, as per a Deadline report published on April 2, 2025. The comedic drama is based on Holly Gramazio's debut novel and is being developed by the team behind Succession and Beef. Craig Gillespie, who directed Your Friends & Neighbors, and Pam & Tommy, will direct the show.

The series tracks Lauren, played by Temple, who finds she is wed to a man she does not remember, only to have her attic yield an endless supply of husbands. This strange premise touches on ideas of identity and choice in life. The Husbands is one of Apple TV+'s growing roster of original series, which also features acclaimed series such as Ted Lasso, where Temple is also cast.

The idea and production of The Husbands

The Husbands is set to be an eight-episode series that explores the life of Lauren, who returns to her London apartment to discover a husband she does not remember meeting. Her husband vanishes as the story goes on, and another one takes his place, making Lauren doubt her choices in life. The series is produced by Battye, and Gillespie via Fortunate Productions, Gramazio, Marter, and A24.

The acquisition by A24, recognized for its creative storytelling, is an indicator that The Husbands will introduce something new to comedy-drama television. The inclusion of producers with credits in Succession and Beef indicates that there is a great amount of creative talent working behind the show.

Juno Temple's involvement and scheduling

Juno Temple's appearance on The Husbands is notable, as she is also expected to reprise her role as Keeley for the fourth season of Ted Lasso. Scheduling for both shows has been tricky, but Apple TV+ is doing its best to prevent Temple's appearance on The Husbands from conflicting with her work on Ted Lasso.

Production of The Husbands will start in late autumn, mostly in the UK, and Ted Lasso will start filming in mid-July. Both series are on the same platform, which makes Temple's schedule easier to manage.
