Apple Cider Vinegar can cure cancer? That's what the protagonist of Netflix's latest miniseries suggests. This upcoming Australian television, produced by See-Saw Films, is inspired by the book The Woman Who Fooled the World by journalists Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano.
While the story might be fictional, it is inspired by the true story of Belle Gibson, an influencer and wellness guru, who fooled the world by claiming that she cured her multiple cancers through food, exercise, and natural medicine.
Apple Cider Vinegar follows the early days of Instagram, and since it is often difficult to separate lies from truth on social media, two young women form an online community where they claim to have cured life-threatening diseases through food and diet, which is a lie.
Created by Australian writer Samantha Strauss, she was inspired when she read the book and decided to create a show around it. The series will arrive on Netflix on February 6, 2025.

1) Kaitlyn Dever as Belle Gibson
The American actress is famous for her roles in Netflix's Unbelievable and Dopesick, which also earned her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, respectively. Her other supporting roles include projects like Ticket to Paradise, Beautiful Boy, and Booksmart. She will also star in HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 as Abby.
In Apple Cider Vinegar, Denver plays the titular role of Belle Gibson, a real-life Australian influencer and wellness guru. She was convicted of scammer and pseudoscience advocate because she claimed to have diagnosed with multiple cancer which she 'cured' with diet and natural medicine. She scammed people to sell her The Whole Pantry mobile app and its later companion cookbook.
2) Alycia Debnam-Carey as Milla Blake
The Australian actress debuted her feature film with Netflix's disaster film Into the Storm. Her other credits include Fear the Walking Dead, The 100, and The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.
She will play the character of Milla, a young influencer who builds an online presence by promoting the power of food to cure cancer.
3) Aisha Dee as Chanelle
An Australian actress and singer, Dee's most popular role was as Desi Biggins in the children's series The Saddle Club. Her other credits include Accused, Safe Home, and The Bold Type.
Dee joins Apple Cider Vinegar cast as Chanelle, Milla's close friend, whose priorities shift when she meets the 'enigmatic' Belle, and she starts working with her on her wellness program.
4) Tilda Cobham-Hervey as Lucy
After debuting with 52 Tuesdays, Hervey went on to star in many movies like I am Woman, and Young Woman. Her television credits include The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Barracuda, and F***ing Adelaide.
She plays the character of Lucy, a woman struggling with cancer, who gets drawn into the same world of influence and wellness created by Milla and Belle.
