As Craig Conover revealed the personal facts of his split with Paige DeSorbo at the Southern Charm Season 10 reunion, the Bravo-verse is ablaze with drama. What started out as a picture-perfect reality TV relationship has evolved into a story with surprising turns and poignant revelations.

"Sure, I wasn't a perfect boyfriend," Conover candidly admitted.

Elaborating:

"I had a lot of s--t that I had to work out. It's been an interesting breakup to say the least."

The Southern Charm star pulled back the curtain on a relationship that seemed solid—a three-year journey that included talks of engagement, moving to New York, and dreams of a shared future. Now, it's a story of unexpected separation and personal growth.

Southern Charm’s Craig Conover recounts his breakup with Paige

Craig Conover's account painted a picture of a breakup that blindsided him completely. After a seemingly perfect Thanksgiving weekend, DeSorbo made an unexpected phone call that would change everything. Craig recalled:

"After a three-year relationship when a girl has asked you to buy an engagement ring—and you did, and asked you to move to New York—and you have agreed to move to New York. When you just get a phone call... I didn't think it was real."

In a moment that sounds more like a reality TV script than real life, Conover recounted his post-breakup interaction with Southern Charm's DeSorbo. When she casually proposed an unusual wedding plan, the discussion took a nearly ridiculous turn.

"After Watch What Happens Live, I went to her apartment to just be like, 'What's happening?'" he shared.

He elaborated:

"She's like, 'I'm probably making the worst mistake of my life, but I need to go find myself.' And then I asked her, 'What do you want me to do with your ring?' She's like, 'Keep it. Maybe we'll get married at BravoCon.'"

The most striking revelations came when Conover described the post-breakup Paige—a version of her he barely recognizes.

"She's fighting with people in the comments, she's starting to say mean stuff about me based on what the internet is saying. I'm just like, 'I didn't do anything to you,'" he claims.

Finding silver linings

What started out as a fast-paced Bravo romance during the summer of 2021 on Winter House has now turned into a public warning about love. Fans were moved by Conover's vulnerability and came together in surprising ways to support him.

Despite the painful breakup, Conover found unexpected support.

"I've never felt more supported in my life," he gushed.

Explaining:

"The thousands of people that watch our shows, so many people related to it. So many people were like, 'I know you don't want to hear this, but it just takes time.'"

Relationships in reality TV are just as erratic as the drama they produce. Craig Conover's candid Southern Charm reunion revelations prove that sometimes, the most compelling storylines are the ones we never saw coming.

Southern Charm airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
