America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is back. And, we’re already practicing our jump splits in celebration.

The second season of Netflix's sparkling docu series is set to bring more high kicks. You can witness the dazzling routines, and behind-the-scenes drama straight to your living room.

Directed by Emmy Award winner Greg Whiteley of Cheer and Last Chance U fame, the series is about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) through every major turn of the NFL 2024–25 season.

But, that’s not all. This is just one piece of Netflix’s ongoing partnership with the Dallas Cowboys. It includes an untitled docu series about the Cowboys' history and team owner Jerry Jones.

While we wait for Season 2, let’s break down all the details we know so far.

What to expect in America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2?

If Season 1 had you hooked, get ready for more behind-the-scenes excitement in America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2.

Netflix will once again go deep into the DCC journey. It will capture every moment from “auditions and training camps” to show-stopping performances throughout the NFL season.

Expect all the drama of balancing careers and personal lives. There’s also the pressure to represent one of the NFL’s most iconic squads.

Just like last season, we’ll witness emotional highs and moments of triumph, maybe even a few tears. This will be a treat for fans of athleticism and teamwork.

Season 1 gave us a front-row seat to the making of the DCC’s 36-member squad. It featured a mix of legacy and fresh talent.

We met Victoria Kalina and Madeline Salter. They followed in their DCC moms’ footsteps. We also met rookies like Anna Kate Sundvold and Reece Weaver. They brought their A-game and earned a spot on the team again for the 2024 season.

Who will be featured in America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2?

Netflix hasn’t dropped the full cast list yet. But, we know a few familiar faces are returning.

The teaser image for Season 2 prominently features Reece Weaver. Fan-favorite Anna Kate Sundvold is also back, possibly alongside her sister Caroline, a DCC alum.

However, we’ll be missing a few from Season 1. Victoria Kalina has retired and is now pursuing new adventures in New York. Another familiar face, Kelcey Wetterberg, also bid farewell to the DCC after the first season.

Chrissy Teigen takes on DCC auditions in a parody

One superfan who’s probably over the moon about the renewal is none other than Chrissy Teigen. Back in August, she slipped into a Cowboys cheerleader-inspired outfit for a parody audition on Instagram.

Poking fun at the cheerleaders’ impressive day jobs, she said:

“Aside from this, I’m actually working as an archaeologist just west of the Nile River.”

She also joked:

“I actually solo discovered the last triceratops that was found—but this is, hands down, my priority.”

Chrissy even roped in her eldest daughter, Luna. She was seen mock-warming up beside her mom and delivering a cheeky line:

“This is my first year auditioning.”

She also said:

“I don’t know, the competition isn’t really that tough.”

Those jump splits in America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders actually hurt

The iconic jump splits of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders might look great. But, they take a serious toll on the body.

Caroline Sundvold opened up about the painful reality on America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Caroline appeared alongside her sister Anna.

She revealed that after four seasons of split-kicking, her joints were in rough shape. It was so bad that a doctor told her surgery was the only option.

But, she decided to tough it out for one more season. Eventually, after her fifth season, Caroline did go under the knife for hip surgery. But surprisingly, her foot surgery was even more of a struggle.

Still, none of that stopped Anna Kate. After making the squad in 2023, she’s back for the 2024 season. This shows that the DCC spirit is all about pushing through the pain.
