Season 19 of America's Got Talent has unveiled its much-awaited winner in the form of Richard Goodall. After months of brilliant performances, some heartfelt eliminations, and a grand finale night, the show concluded with a bang. Richard Goodall had a brilliant journey throughout the show, captivating the judges and audience alike.

The final result was revealed on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 9 pm ET. The finale episode was a two-hour long episode that started with all the countdown acts from the season at 8 pm ET. Then the episode was followed by the star-studded performances of Simone Biles, Michale Buble from The Voice, R&B singer Anda Day, and many more.

Before announcing the number of votes, and the top five finalists, Terry Crews shared the warm messages sent by the finalists' parents, friends, and loved ones. Roni & Rhythm, Learnmore, Solange Kardinaly, Sky Elements, and Richard Goodall comprised the top five according to America's Vote. Crews then announced the winner of Season 19, and all bid farewell to another great season.


Richard Goodall won Season 19 of America's Got Talent

"The singing Janitor', as he was known throughout the show. Richard Goodall hails from Terre Haute, Indiana, and worked as a Janitor for 23 years in an elementary school. He was encouraged by the kids for whom he used to sing while doing his job.

Richard auditioned in episode 1 of the show and performed Journey's Don't Stop Believing, which earned him the season's first Golden Buzzer by Heidi Klum. All the other three judges, Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel were stunned by his voice and performance. He again impressed the judges who gave him a standing ovation for his Quarterfinal 1 performance in Michael Bolton's How Am I Supposed To Live Without You, a song he dedicated to his fiance.

Richard won the hearts of all four judges along with America's Vote which helped him advance to the semi-finals along with Ashes & Arrows and Roni Sagi & Rhythm. His semi-final performance in America's Got Talent made Heidi Klum stand up for him once again, as she called his performance 'epic'. Richard performed an exceptional cover of Eye of the Tiger by Survivor.

The performance made him advance to the finale with ample votes, making him one of the top 10 finalists.

Richard Goodall performed Faithfully by Journey in episode 19 of America's Got Talent. The final performance made Heidi Klum proud:

"I am so happy that we met because it really touched my heart, and I hope that everyone at home felt the same way, and I hope that everyone is going to work for you I want you to win this so bad Richard."

The finale result day of America's Got Talent witnessed Richard perform one more time on the stage. Richard revived the memories from his first performance, as he got to perform Don't Stop Believing with Neal Schon and members of Journey.


America's Got Talent Season 19 is available on NBC. The finale episode of the show will be available to stream on Peacock on September 25.
