AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City is the latest edition of the beloved zombie apocalypse show The Walking Dead to be added to Netflix.
On March 17, 2025, Netflix shared about the arrival of The Walking Dead: Dead City on X. The series premiered on June 18, 2023, on AMC+ in the US.
The spin-off series follows Lauren Cohen’s character 'Maggie' and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s 'Negan', who have traveled to Manhattan in search of Maggie’s kidnapped son Hershel (Logan Kim).
While looking for Hershel, they face challenges such as the New Babylon marshal, who is looking for Negan and a new struggle with the walkers as they violently tumble from the tall high-rise buildings of New York City.

The Walking Dead: Dead City is now streaming on Netflix US
This spin-off series of The Walking Dead is now available on Netflix for fans of the show in the US. Other than Dead City, the original series has been available on Netflix along with other spin-offs such as Fear The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
Dead City might garner a new wave of viewers with its addition to Netflix right before season 2 premieres on May 4, 2025. The second season might see Maggie and Negan on opposing sides yet again, with Negan forced into helping The Croat against the New Babylon Federation, who wanted to use their natural resources.
Unfortunately, The Walking Dead: Dead City, is available on Netflix only for the US. In the UK, the show is available on NOW and Sky and there is no news of the show making its way to Netflix UK, yet.
More about The Walking Dead: Dead City
As the ending of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 showed Maggie leaving with her son Hershel and Negan still with The Croat, the show will pick up from there and introduce more challenges for The Walking Dead veterans.
In an interview with IGN, Lauren Cohen shared what season 2 will bring for her character Maggie. She said:
"Sadly not everything is quite as rosy as it could be or seems or one would hope. My son is still a teenage boy and there are these natural tensions of navigating just family life. And I’ve got Ginny in my care and she’s a teenage girl."
She further added:
"And so there are very relatable domestic dynamics that are playing out as we come back in Season 2, on top of this apocalyptic world and trying to eat and stay safe and sleep. That’s where we find ourselves before another big bad thing happens."
Jeffrey Dean Morgan also teased about his character, saying:
"We find Negan very much under the thumb of The Dama and The Croat, and on some ground he’s not real familiar with."
