1) Queen of Cups
Referring to: Lilia Calderu
The first card Lilia pulls out is the Queen of Cups, referring to the Sicilian witch herself as she says, "Empathetic, Intuitive, Inner Voice To Be Trusted." The card captures her nurturing nature and urge to help others, just as the Sicilian culture is known for its spells, remedies, and charm.
Like the typical Queen of Cups, the young woman in the tarot card is Lilia Calderu, sitting at a round table instead of a sea. Her intuitive abilities make Lilia the best person to seek advice and support.
2) Three of Pentacles
Referring to: The Coven
As Lilia turns the second card in Agatha All Along episode 7, it turns out to be the Three of Pentacles, signifying "Collaboration, Community, Singular Voices Waiting To Harmonize." It highlights Lilia's desire for a coven that follows teamwork and collaboration.
After being criticized by her mentor, Lilia has found happiness in her coven of relatable witches. She's determined to help them and even give them her life.
3) Knight of Wands
Referring to: Alice Wu-Gulliver
Soon after, Lilia opens the third card and says, "Full Of Fire, Fights Bravely," and we know who she's talking about. Knight of Wands perfectly aligns with Alice Wu-Gulliver, who didn't think once before getting into action to save Agatha Harkness when her mother's spirit passed her body.
This happens in Agatha All Along episode 5, when the witches use an Ouija board, and Agatha's mother's spirit comes out. Alice used all of her powers while confronting Evanora Harkness' spirit and ended up dying as Agatha continued absorbing her powers.
4) High Priestess
Referring to: Jennifer Kale
The fourth tarot card says "Immense Spiritual Power, Unable Or Unwilling To Use It," referring to Jennifer Kale's self-discovery. Jennifer aims to enhance her skills as a witch and reclaim her powers.
To do so, she must trust herself and follow her inner voice despite continuous challenges in the path. The tarot card hinted at Jennifer's powers that haven't been truly discovered in Agatha All Along so far.
5) Three of Swords
Referring to: Agatha Harkness
Following the fifth card, Lilia says, "Heartbreak, Sorrow, Grief," which deeply resonates with Agatha Harkness. The card shows a woman with three blades in a heart, just as Agatha couldn't control her tears when Billy Maximoff was hurt in Agatha All Along episode 4.
The tarot card explains her emotional struggles and pain after losing her powers. The titular witch has encountered notable losses and wounds throughout her life, and her journey continues.
6) Tower Reversed
Referring to: Billy Maximoff
As the swords above their heads come down, Lilia opens Tower Reversed, saying, "Disaster, Destruction, Sudden Upheaval, But Reversed, It Means Miraculous Transformation," highlighting Billy Maximoff's story arc. The tarot card shows Billy's transformation as he enters William Kaplan's dead body and begins a new life.
Agatha All Along episode 5 confirmed Teen as Wanda and Vision's son Billy Maximoff as he unleashed his powers against Aagtha. However, the card also hints at possible upcoming consequences.
7) Death
Referring to: Rio Vidal/ Lady Death
As episode 7 ends, Lilia opens the last tarot card, confirming "Rio is Death" with flashbacks featuring past hints about Rio Vidal's identity. Fans have been waiting for this moment for so long, as they have been speculating about Aubrey Plaza's actual role in the Marvel series.
So now we finally know that Rio Vidal is actually Lady Death, thanks to Lilia, who made the necessary revelations before the Salem Seven arrived, and she sacrificed herself in the end. The episodes end with Lilia passing the trial and allowing Agatha, Billy, and Jennifer to take the next trial while her journey as a witch ends.
