All American is gearing up for an emotional goodbye with Season 8 of the sports drama. The CW series recently dropped a bombshell on die-hard fans of the series: Five of the original cast members will NOT return for the penultimate season.
Season 7 is the last time we’ll get to see characters from the OG cast since Season 1 of the show.
Previously, Daniel Ezra (who plays Spencer James) announced his exit from All American. However, the decision was revoked after he claimed he’d still guest star until the franchise ends. Here are the characters we’re bidding adieu to!
5 Cast members from All American not returning for Season 8
1) Cody Christian as Asher Adams
Cody Christian plays Asher Adams in All American and has been with the drama since 2018. Adams had a rather checkered past due to his steroid addiction, landing him in a world of trouble.
However, with the help of his friends and family - Adams was able to overcome this hurdle. Christian’s character initially played for Beverly Hills High as a wide receiver, and was considered a prodigy.
After making a switch to Costa California Manta Rays, he ultimately landed at Golden Angels Condors. Although Adams went through a tumultuous love life, he’s currently in a happy relationship with Jaymee - the mother of his child.
2) Chelsea Tavares as Patience Robinson
Chelsea Tavares plays the groovy music enthusiast Patience Robinson in All American. Patience is generally a savage who practices being her unapologetic authentic self. Initially, Tavares’ character sparingly appeared in the series through Seasons 1 and 2.
However, after an outpour of love from fans for her, she was promoted to series regular from Season 3. Patience had a deep affinity for Coop - after many attempts, the two finally did get together romantically.
Sadly, it didn’t last after their relationship took its curtain call in the finale of Season 4. Nonetheless, they continued being great friends and briefly lived together. The fact that Season 7 is the last time viewers and fans will see her is sad indeed.
3) Samantha Logan as Olivia Baker
All American will never be the same without this iconic character who has been on the series since Season 1! Samantha Logan plays Adams’ former flame, Olivia Baker, and double acts as her twin ‘Jordan.’ Logan’s character saw immense development through the 7 seasons.
The reason she and Adams hit it off romantically was primarily because of their addictions - albeit different.
Olivia struggled greatly with illegal substances and alcohol but, after seeking help - she was able to truly turn her life around. She went from a junkie to an invigorating yet budding journalist at the Golden Angels University.
4) Monet Mazur as Laura Fine-Baker
It appears that two of the three Bakers are making an exit from All American: Laura Fine-Baker being the other one. Played by Monet Mazur, the NCIS alum acts as the twins’ mother on the CW series. Like her on-screen daughters, Mazur has been a dedicated cast member since Season 1.
Her character is a fiery and that of a highly intellectual attorney, who always pushes her daughters to do the right thing.
Given her job, Laura is rather austere when it comes to raising her children and deeply cares about her kids adhering to the law. However, nothing comes between the love she has for them and her husband Billy.
5) Karimah Westbrook as Grace James
All American will be bidding farewell to another beloved character, Grace James, played by Karimah Westbrook. The actress is very similar to Laura and often interacts with her since they’re both involved in the legal world in terms of their respective careers. Like Laura, she’s tough, emphatic, and fiercely protective of her children Dillon and Spencer.
As a mother, she may appear rather strict, but she loves her boys to the moon and back and ensures they know it. Although she’s now married to D’Angelo, James used to be romantically involved with Laura’s husband Billy years back. This did stir up some drama, but they got over it.
All 6 Seasons of All American can be binged on CW or Netflix until Season 7 airs in 2025.
