Sharon Davis' death and the summoning of Rio Vidal in Agatha All Along Episode 4

As the coven comes to terms with the death of Sharon Davis, they prepare her grave. When everyone starts blaming each other, Teen tells them that the group failed to look after one another.

Agatha, then, summons a new green witch using Teen's spellbook. But, fate brings Rio Vidal back, much to Agatha’s dismay. As the group continues their journey along the road, they discover a cabin. The door has a waxing moon symbol, meaning they have reached the next phase of the trial.

As they enter the cabin, their outfits change into 1970s costumes. There is also a huge indication that Rio and Agatha have a complicated romantic history. In the soundbooth, Agatha uses Rio's words to make the coven suspicious of her. Soon after, Teen comes across a cursed record, triggering the next trial.

As the curse spreads, the group realizes that Alice's family curse is at play. Agatha realizes that they must perform a version of The Ballad of the Witches’ Road written by Alice’s mother. Towards the end of the trial, Alice is able to see the physical embodiment of the curse, which is a demonic winged creature. And finally, they pass the trial.

Teen, soon after that, is injured and so he passes out. Agatha panics, revealing her growing bond with Teen, as Jen heals his wounds. When Teen awakens, he questions Agatha about a sigil, and their conversation hints at his identity. Agatha remains tight-lipped when Teen asks about her lost son.

Teen's Nicholas Scratch speculation debunked by Rio Vidal

The biggest moment in Agatha All Along Episode 4 comes when Rio Vidal tells Agatha,

“That boy isn’t yours.”

This statement directly refers to Teen and challenges the popular fan theory that Joe Locke’s Teen is Nicholas Scratch, the son of Agatha from Marvel Comics. With Agatha’s protective behavior toward him, it is possible to incline towards the feeling that they might, afterall, be mother and son. But, Rio's words seem to debunk this idea. This leaves us wondering what Teen's real identity is.

So far, the show has given us a few clues indicating that Teen might not be Nicholas Scratch. For one, in Agatha All Along Episode 3, for the Darkhold, Agatha traded her son. This made us believe that her son may either be dead or turned into something far darker than how he is now.

With Rio debunking the theory, doors to other possibilities concerning Teen’s identity are now open. One possibility could be that Teen is Billy Kaplan, the son of Scarlet Witch. Billy Kaplan is a well-known Marvel Comics character, and Teen’s status as a gay teenager with a boyfriend matches with Billy’s early comic book storylines.

Teen also mentions that bad things happened to him when he was 13. Even this matches with the WandaVision timeline. Additionally, there is the sigil on Teen that prevents him from revealing his real identity. While it’s seen in Agatha All Along Episode 4 that Agatha could have placed the sigil, it’s likely that this was done to keep Teen’s ties to the Scarlet Witch under wraps.

There’s also another possibility; Rio might be lying. Her relationship with Agatha is clearly complicated and Rio could be lying to hurt Agatha, or perhaps even to protect her from the pain of knowing what really happened to Nicholas.
