The episode revolves around Megan, a woman who is very focused on her career in the music industry. She uses AI technology to create music, but this does not sit well with her husband, John, a pianist who values human creativity and artistry.

As Megan gets more involved in her work, John feels ignored in their marriage. Megan then wants to fix things, and asks her sister, Lila, a developer, to give her a prototype AI robot named Eve.

Eve is designed to fulfill physical and emotional needs, and Megan thinks this will help save her marriage by keeping John engaged. However, John grows closer to Eve. He not only likes to talk to her but also plays music for her and starts to prefer her company over Megan’s.

This makes Megan jealous and frustrated. She feels desperate to protect her relationship with John and uses their frozen embryos to get pregnant with his twins, without even asking or talking to him.

While Megan hopes the children will bring her closer to her husband, John tells her he can not stay in the marriage anymore and confesses he has fallen for Eve. Megan is left heartbroken and angry. She lashes out at John and hits his head with a vase, accidentally killing him.

Is Megan guilty in Accused season 2 episode 8?

After killing John, Megan panics and calls her sister, Lila, for help. While Lila is shocked and scared, she agrees to assist Megan in covering up the crime. Since Eve is the only witness to the murder, Megan convinces Lila to alter Eve’s memory.

Lila then changes Eve’s code and makes it look like the robot malfunctioned and attacked John. At the trial, Megan claims that Eve malfunctioned and hit John, which led to his death. The edited footage is presented as evidence, which makes the court rule that John’s death was an accident caused by the glitched robot.

Hence, though being guilty, Megan is found not guilty by court. However, her freedom comes at a cost as Lila’s reputation as a developer is destroyed, and her company is blamed for creating a dangerous robot.
