Shark Tank investor Daymond John shares the reason behind launching a gift box
In the Instagram post caption, Daymond revealed that he was launching The Shark World Gifting Box. He explained that he wanted to gift the community and network he has built with a monthly package consisting of products he likes. According to Daymond, this would help brands, emerging businesses, and new entrepreneurs as well. The caption said:
"The best way to not drown in a sea of goods and to help out entrepreneurs and brands, all while bringing smiles to the people in my network which is packed with CEOs, investors, buyers, celebrities, press, influencers, distributors, and just great people, is to send out a monthly box packed with all the things I love."
The Shark Tank investor revealed that he sent a box in January but later decided to send one every month. He asked his network to share which product they liked in the box on their social media accounts. Daymond encouraged others to share their constructive criticism with the entrepreneurs as well.
He explained that for a business to grow and achieve success praise as well as constructive criticism is important and it would help small business owners learn from the feedback. Daymond said:
"All I ask is that if you absolutely love something, please share your love on social. My network is the ultimate focus group. These small businesses and brands can find just as much value in constructive criticism as they do in praise."
He continued:
"And if you don’t like something or an aspect of a product, feel free to share your feedback directly with the company or entrepreneur, either way. It would mean the world to them to the founders. And if they can’t take it, then they shouldn’t be in business."
The Shark Tank investor concluded the message by asking if any of his friends didn't receive the box, in that case, they shared their address with him. Fans can follow Daymond John on his official Instagram account. New episodes of Shark Tank are available to stream exclusively on ABC.
