Two of the most popular comedy shows, Abbott Elementary and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, are all set to have a crossover episode, the trailer for which has finally been released by ABC.

The episode is all set to be aired on ABC on January 8, 2025. The special event will feature the It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia gang as they head to the Willard R. Abbott Elementary School as volunteers for a day.

It will mark the ninth episode of Abbott Elementary Season 4. The trailer shows funny interactions and banter between the characters of the two sitcoms, which would leave the audience in splits.

The 30-second trailer showcases Janine Teagues welcoming the Paddy Pub gang as volunteers to the "best elementary school in the universe." However, the gang does not look impressed as Deandra exclaims, “Is that what this is?”

The cast of the two shows then interact with each other, leading to some hilarious moments. Mac from It’s Always Sunny hits on Ava from Abbott, telling her to let him know if there is "anything she needs."

Meanwhile, Mr. Johnson and Frank have their own "trash-talk" going on. The special episode is titled "Volunteers" and will premiere on ABC on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 8.30 pm ET. It will also be available to stream on Hulu. The logline for the hour-hour event reads,

“Ava announces the school district is sending a group of volunteers to help out at Abbott; however, when they arrive, things don't go as planned.”

Both the shows air on Disney-owned networks and are set in Philadelphia, which made the crossover possible. Abbott Elementary is the flagship sitcom on ABC, while It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a long-running comedy series on FXX.
