NFL player Aaron Rodgers from The New York Jets surprised fans with a teaser of his Netflix docuseries: Aaron Rodgers: Enigma. It will revolve around his tumultuous road to recovery after his 2023 Achilles injury, which rendered him unable to return to the sport. The docuseries will air on December 17, 2024.

Rodgers hasn’t had many public appearances since enduring an injury to his Achilles tendon on his Jets debut which came on September 11, 2023. It put him out for the rest of the season. Rodgers has encountered several career-threatening injuries in the past as well.

Some of them include fractures, multiple joint dislocations, and broken ribs - he’s been put through the wringer. While this caused him to miss a few games, none were as intense as last year's injury. Aaron Rodgers: Enigma will explore the aftermath of the injury from his perspective. It will also highlight the process of his healing and his return to the NFL.

When will Aaron Rodgers: Enigma release on Netflix?

Netflix’s Tudum revealed December 17, 2024, as the release date for Aaron Rodgers: Enigma. Since his injury, Rodgers has given several interviews keeping the public and his fans updated about his progress.

The streaming platform recently dropped a ‘First Look’ trailer on its social media account. The trailer featured Rodgers explaining “percentages” of catching the ball and leading it to the endzone from different zones on the field.

Additionally, his intellect and experience as a player are on full display in such a brief section of the trailer. Furthermore, he also gushed about former Packers receiver, James Jones and his impressive skill on the field.

As observed from the trailer, Rodgers appeared to be seated in his private jet, with his foot bandaged, and accompanied by Dr. Neal ElAttrache who operated on him.

The surgeon has also offered medical assistance to several other athletes including the late Basketball legend Kobe Bryant and retired NFL player Tom Brady. Dr. ElAttrache commented on the one thing that connects all three players and said:

“They all have belief in themselves - sometimes it’s a belief that their own body doesn’t follow the normal rules of anatomy or physics or biology.”

Although he isn’t completely on board about how they each push themselves beyond physical limits, he added:

“If you can corral that a little bit, I think that it can work in a positive way!”

The trailer concluded with a final glimpse of Rodgers looking out the window of his jet, and Netflix announcing the release date.

The tagline on Tudum reads:

“Follow NFL legend Aaron Rodgers as he bounces back from an Achilles injury in this sports series chronicling the defining moments of his life and career.”

Aaron Rodgers recently made his competitive return during a Jets versus 49ers game, but his team lost in a 32-19 upset.
