"A very similar journey": The Challenge 40 star Johnny Bananas opens up about "getting targeted" on the show

The Challenge 40 finalist, Johnny Bananas, invited one of the winners from the show's recently concluded season. Fans witnessed Jenny West, Rachel Robinson, and Jordan Wiseley winning the MTV show.

Death, Taxes, and Bananas podcast host and fellow The Challenge 40 competitor Johnny Bananas discussed various things with one of the winners, Jenny West, on his January 10, 2025 podcast episode on Ringer Reality TV.

Fans are well aware of how some of the participants on the show get targeted not only by viewers but also by their team members and more. Sharing more on the subject, The Challenge 40 finalist Johnny Bananas said:

"I remember sitting with you on the bus because we kind of had a very similar journey early on this season where it just seemed like we kept on getting targeted, and it is frustrating for it to continue to happen, but I saw this, like, look on your face, like, 'What the f*ck is the point of me continuing to do this if I'm just going to continue being you know, the sacrificial lamb.'"

He added:

"And I remember, and they didn't show it, but I remember me and the night that Brad and I pulled you aside, and we were like, 'I think what you need to do, Jenny, is just start throwing challenges.'"

The Challenge 40 winner Jenny West: In conversation with Johnny Bananas on his podcast

On the January 10, 2025 episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras' Finale Part 2 With Jenny and Rachel on Death, Taxes, and Bananas podcast, Jenny West discussed being targeted on the show. After Johnny mentioned feeling like he had a "similar journey" as Jenny's, she responded that she was ready to do so:

"Yeah, and I was like, "Count me in!" but I never actually got my opportunity...went individual at that point, didn't I?... I think it...I think it is a case of I have so much patience and usually I just even if something is going on that I don't really kind of agree with, I can't be even bothered to even discuss it."

The Challenge 40 winner, Jenny, also shared how she was not thinking about "what other people are going to think." She mentioned feeling "not giving a f*ck" and "not caring" at the moment.

Further on the podcast episode, Johnny Bananas mentioned that one of Jenny's "really great strengths" was her heart and her determination.

"I think we spoke about before I think a lot of that comes from, like, your childhood and the way you grew up and just kind of having to fend for yourself but also you don't seem to be like, and you might be, but you don't appear to be like afraid or intimidated in literally any situation."

The podcast host applauded Jenny for not getting intimated by even jumping from an 80-story building or going into "another elimination" after her team had targeted her "once again."

Responding to that, The Challenge 40 winner, Jenny, mentioned that she was a "huge empath" and always gets worried about "hurting" everyone's feelings.

The duo talked about various things, including getting frustrated and angry during the tasks.
