Suits LA is going all-in on its Hollywood setting by bringing in real celebrities to play versions of themselves. Building on the recent guest spots by The Office's Brian Baumgartner and comedian Patton Oswalt, the show's star, Lex Scott Davis, has suggested that there are more big-name cameos on the way.

On March 9, Davis told Parade:

“A lot of stars could potentially grace our stage.”

Filming in Los Angeles makes sure, she said, the show has:

“Access and resources to plenty of talent.”

The show's third episode, 'He Knew,' had a Hollywood-themed plot. In it, Baumgartner needed legal help to get a serious acting role. His situation got tied up with Oswalt's, and they talked about their places in the entertainment world.

Aaron Korsh spoke to The Wrap on March 9 and said that he wants famous people to make short cameos to become a regular thing in Suits LA:

“The dream would be that people start reaching out [to come on the show. When people see what we’re doing, they might enjoy wanting to try it,” he said.

Suits LA keeps the franchise's hallmark wit and drama.

Why is Suits LA leaning into celebrity cameos?

Suits LA is different from the original series. Instead of high-stakes corporate law, it is about lawyers in the entertainment industry. They deal with both legal and personal issues in Hollywood. Aaron Korsh told The Wrap that this focus lets real actors appear as fictional versions of themselves, which makes Suits LA feel more natural. As reported by Collider, Korsh explained:

“These are entertainment lawyers, so they have entertainment clients. Much of the time, those clients will be real actors playing versions of themselves.”

Suits LA aims to give viewers an inside look at Hollywood, mixing satire with legal stories. This is evident in Baumgartner's episode where he tries switching from comedy to serious acting. The show comments on industry clichés through witty dialogue between him and Patton Oswalt.

The show's creator, Korsh, mentioned that convincing actors to join requires trust. Despite this, the positive feedback indicates Hollywood is accepting the show's fresh take. Looking ahead, Enrico Colantoni from Veronica Mars will make a guest appearance, adding to the series' lineup of well-known faces.

Original Suits stars are also making a comeback

This show is bringing back some fan favorites, even as it introduces new celebrity guests. Next week, you will see Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter again. He is returning for a multi-episode storyline, which means more of the clever banter fans enjoyed in the OG series. Rick Hoffman will also come back, playing Louis Litt.

Show creator Aaron Korsh has hinted that other original cast members might show up, but he is keeping the details a secret.

The biggest surprise could be Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's appearance. Korsh acknowledged that such a move could have huge consequences, saying it would "blow up the world too much."

However, he didn't completely rule it out, and kept the possibility open:

“Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.”

Suits LA brings together fresh Hollywood talent and familiar faces from the OG show to create its vibe. It respects the past but makes its own mark.

The spin-off airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific Time on NBC. You can catch it the next day on Peacock if you miss the live airing.
