The stakes were high, alliances fragile, and secrets million-dollar deep. And for Sydnee, one of the most compelling players on Netflix’s Million Dollar Secret, it all came to a head in an episode packed with eliminations, sabotage, and emotional fallout.
After a rollercoaster season, Sydnee opened up about her experience on a podcast with host Avory, revealing what we didn’t see on-screen—and what it really felt like to be portrayed as the villain. But as she breaks it all down, it becomes clear there was far more to her story than what viewers saw.
From alliances and miscommunications to a group chat that’s slowly imploding, here’s what Sydnee had to say about her Million Dollar Secret journey—and what she wants viewers to understand.
The Million Dollar Secret elimination that changed everything
The moment that Jamie went home was a turning point—not just for the cast, but for viewers who had been rooting for a Sydnee-Jamie alliance.
“My heart is like ripped out in that moment because I was actually rooting for Jamie,” Avory admits of that scene.
Even though she said Jamie’s name at the table, she had warned her in advance.
“I did not vote for Jamie,” she clarifies.
“I didn’t want to say Cara just because I didn't know... I guess I could have, because that kill shot wouldn't have affected me anyway".
Even Sydnee was left puzzled by the voting results.
“It said that Jamie and I both voted for Sam. And I—I don't recall that,” she says.
If the votes had aligned just slightly differently, Sam might have gone home instead. And that? That would have changed everything in Million Dollar Secret history.
Was it sabotage or just good gameplay?
Things came to a head in the final four challenge when Sydnee was paired with Cara—who, according to Sydnee, didn’t exactly play fair.
“That girl got me zapped so many times,” she says, describing their electric suit mission.
“We were smoking Corey. And as soon as I saw her just wait, I was like—she threw it. For sure threw it.”
Matching outfits with Cara wasn’t the only unplanned twist.
“It was not planned,” Sydnee says about their accidentally twinning mission day looks.
But while the clothes may have matched, their gameplay didn’t.
"I cannot get paired with her," Sydnee said in a confessional that didn’t make the cut.
It all built up to one word: sabotage. And in the world of Million Dollar Secret, sabotage is just another part of the strategy.
Production tricks and suspicious twists
Fans of The Mole might recognize some tricks in Million Dollar Secret. According to Sydnee, scenes were often filmed twice—with contestants asked to re-say lines “like you’re in it” and then again “like it’s after.” Confessionals were spliced together, and even outfits gave clues that scenes weren’t always linear.
Sydnee suspects production designed some agendas to match cast personalities.
“Sam getting people to say Justin Timberlake's name—that is not a casual conversation,” she laughs.
But Cara, asking people to switch seats?
“That happened the whole time,” she adds.
All these elements made sussing out the millionaire harder—and watching the Million Dollar Secret twist unravel even more addictive.
The aftermath and unexpected tension
One of the most surprising things Sydnee reveals isn’t even about the game. It’s about what happens when the show airs. From DMs to comment sections, post-show fan reactions stir up drama that didn’t exist in real life.
“The cast is so close right now. We love each other… and then the show airs—beef.”
Despite being portrayed as a serious competitor, Sydnee insists she’s more than the villain edit.
“We really did have a lot of fun, funny moments,” she says.
But once the game is over, real friendships remain—group chat chaos and all.
Game over, but no regrets
So what was her Million Dollar Secret mistake? “Voting for Chris instead of Sam,” Sydnee says. Sam had done her job well—planting seeds of doubt. And although things with Chris got rocky, they’re on good terms now.
“We chatted right after the show,” Sydnee confirms.
Looking back, Sydnee sees Million Dollar Secret for what it was: a game. And as a contestant who was called cold, calculating or even a villain, she wants people to know—there’s more to the story.
Because, in the end, Million Dollar Secret is about trust, deception, strategy… and a bit of sabotage.
