A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is Netflix’s newest teen crime drama. Originally adapted from best-selling author Holly Jackson’s Good Girl, Bad Blood, the series was released on the 1st of August.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is a good old crime thriller with a maniacal plot followed by an unexpected twist. The story revolves around Pip Fitz-Amobi - a high schooler en route to college, curious about a case closed 5 years ago.

Although her friends and the rest of the town deduced the disappearance of Andie Bell was a murder committed by her boyfriend Sal Singh, Pip thought otherwise.

This was a tale of how Pip donned her investigative abilities and teamed up with Sal’s brother Ravi Singh to uncover the twisted truth behind Bell’s disappearance.

Meet the talented cast of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder who brought the characters alive:

1) Emma Myers as Pip Amobi

Best known for her role as Enid on Wednesday, Meyers plays the protagonist Pip Fitz-Amobi on A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Her character packs some serious sleuthing skills followed by her never-ending hunger for justice.

The way she embodies raw emotions of anger, pain, fear, thrill, and joy is noteworthy. Furthermore, Pip’s character is continually seen seeking the truth behind Bell’s disappearance no matter the cost.

Overall, Pip is regarded as fearless and might just have a penchant for danger. Nonetheless, she got her justice when the truth was finally exposed and the real culprit was caught.

2) Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh

Making his acting debut in a possibly grand manner is Zain Iqbal as the protagonist’s partner in crime, Ravi Singh. Iqbal’s character experiences some major character growth throughout the season.

Initially coming off as shy and introverted, Ravi turned out to be Pip’s most trusted ally and partner. Even though Ravi doesn’t speak as much, his intellect is possibly on par with Pip’s.

A testament to that would be the time he cleverly got Nat Da Silva (Jessica Webber) to meet with him and Pip to discuss a few details of the case. Likewise, the series highlights many instances of Ravi’s crucial aid to Pip.

3) Rahul Pattni as Salil 'Sal' Singh

The bane of Pip and Ravis’s collaboration and investigation; the ethos of their detective journey is Salil ‘Sal’ Singh played by Rahul Pattni. Sal is initially portrayed as an antagonist, a killer who was said to have murdered Andie Bell and then killed himself out of guilt.

Before his death, Sal was a loyal and loving boyfriend to Bell before her disappearance. Snippets showed the two being affectionate with each other even though they got into a fight. Pip continually recalls the day she last saw Sal and Bell and even expresses feelings of guilt for both of them.

That fateful day, Bell waltzed into a classroom in a huff and gestured Pip to remain silent should anyone come asking for her. Moments later, a sullen and disheveled Sal urges Pip to reveal Bell’s location. However, thanks to Pip and his brother Ravi, Sal got his name cleared and his tragic death was finally unveiled.

4) India Lillie Davies as Andie Bell

Like the majority of her castmates, Davies is also a budding actress who previously starred in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Davies plays the elusive Andie Bell who disappeared 5 years ago (in the show) after she was thought to have gotten into an argument with her boyfriend Sal Singh.

Later on, Sal was thought to have killed her and then himself. Bell was thought to have been dead all those years until Pip decided to intervene in her case. In retrospect, Bell was revealed to have been held captive by the school’s Literature teacher, Elliot Ward (Mathew Baynton).

Despite not having much screen time, Bell’s presence lingers throughout. For Pip and Ravi, proving Sal’s innocence becomes their driving force to discover Bell’s real whereabouts in the series. In the end, thanks to Pip and Ravi's dedication, both Sal and Bell got justice.

5) Asha Banks as Cara Ward

Asha Banks is no stranger to the screen and is known for her roles such as Rebel Cheer Squad, The Magic Flute, Dickens: Phantoms, and Fiction. Banks' character is known for being sarcastic yet witty.

But all in all, she's a great friend to Pip. In the series, Pip and Cara are said to be best friends since they were 4 years old.

When Pip lost her dog, it was Cara who became her shoulder to cry on and process her tragic loss. Likewise, when Cara's dad (Elliot Ward) was arrested for murder, Pip was her pillar of strength.

The duo expresses a loving and wholesome bond of friendship throughout the series, which is rather noteworthy for fans galore.

6) Yali Topol Margalith as Lauren Gibson

Yali Topol Margalith plays Pip's good friend Lauren Gibson in the series. Gibson can be described as quirky and extroverted. Like Cara, Gibson is also seemingly close to Pip and is also her shoulder to cry on.

Margalith may not have had the most screen time but she might've made her mark during one particular episode of the show. During the cusp of Pip's investigation, she and her friends (including Gibson) decide to spend a night camping in the woods.

Gibson is seen encouraging Pip to narrate a ghost story or a serial killer story. Furthermore, she even attempts to invite the ghost of Bell to visit them; a haunting ordeal.

7) Yasmin Al-Khudhairi as Naomi Ward

Yasmin Al-Khudhairi plays Cara’s sarcastic older sister Naomi Ward on the hit show. Although Namoi is a few years older than Pip and her sister, she slowly becomes a pivotal character in the plot.

Namoi does everything she can to help Pip and Ravi draw closer to the mystery that is Andie Bell while hiding a dark truth of her own.

With Pip’s instincts and Naomi’s conscience, she came to spill the beans herself about a night out gone horribly wrong. Al-Khudhairi’s character recalled the dreadful day she was asked to hush up about covering an accident.

With guilt eating away at her, Naomi bravely confesses to Pip at a High School reunion and watches on in the aftermath of her words.

8) Henry Ashton as Max Hastings

Henry Ashton plays Max Hastings. Ashton’s character Hastings is a suave, cunning, dubious, and calculative gentleman who later becomes pivotal to the plot, especially because he was Sal’s best bud.

He is one of the first people Pip approached for clues concerning Sal’s murder and Bell’s disappearance. During an aristocratic party, Hastings agreed to share but a few tips with Pip on one condition: one shot of alcohol per question.

To Hasting’s surprise, she kept up with gusto downing glass after glass. In the end, Pip unveiled yet another toe-curling truth about Hastings apart from the accident he covered up with Naomi.

9) Jackson Bews as Dan Da Silva

Initially suspected as the ‘Older Guy’ by Pip, Officer Dan is a proud member of the police force in their town. Although he donned a friendly smile, he seemingly appeared sinister at times.

Bews character was said to have had a fling with Bell before she started dating Sal. Although she moved on, it didn’t seem like he did.

Pip and Office Dan’s interactions were if anything incredibly tense with each meeting. Pip first saw Dan when he arrived to pick up his sister Nat after a game of tennis.

The duo held a serious gaze as Dan drove past Pip. Dan’s story concludes shortly after Pip learns he was the mysterious caretaker of Hasting’s incident involving Naomi.

10) Carla Woodcock as Becca Bell

Carla Woodcock’s character Becca Bell is yet another character whose story gets closely intertwined in the pretense of her sister Andie’s disappearance.

She also believed that Sal had killed her, considering the evidence against him. Although she was pretty much in the background, turns out, she was the secondary antagonist of the series.

Although Becca played coy in the beginning, in an explosive confession she revealed how she accidentally killed her sister Andie during an altercation. Furthermore, she also wrote several threatening letters to Pip to ward her off from finding out the dark truth.

Despite her crimes, Pip also found out that Hastings had sexually assaulted her after a party shortly before her sister’s disappearance. Moreover, in the finale, Pip vowed to make her perpetrator suffer not just for Becca but for every other person he hurt in the past.

11) Mathew Baynton as Elliot Ward

Lastly, the antagonist no one saw coming: Elliot Ward played by Mathew Baynton. Before the reality of his actions caught up to him, Ward was perhaps Pip’s hero in the show.

Not only was he her best friend's (Cara’s) dad but also her English Teacher. He’d often advise Pip about her actions and would always flaunt a warm smile at his students. Little did everyone know, that the devil was in the details.

Not only was Ward the mastermind behind killing Sal Singh, but he was also responsible for the many eerie notes Pip would find as she inched closer to the truth.

Baynton is also known for his role in several shows and movies such as Wonka, The Falling, The Split, and You Instead. His acting skills in the show added a new thrill to watching the show.
