Who is Russell Lawson?

In the first episode of Lincoln Lawyer Season 2, Russell Lawson, played by David Clayton Rogers, becomes Mickey's client after being arrested for breaking into a home and exposing himself.

However, he denies all charges and claims that his drink must have been spiked in the bar as he has no memory of doing these things. After Mickey bails him out, Russell Lawson pays him $5,000 to keep him on retainer in case anything comes up.

However, it soon becomes clear that Russell is not what he seems. When Mickey returns home after getting him bail, he finds Russell sitting on his back patio. He then reveals a Japanese kanji tattoo, pulling up his sleeve.

This proves that he was the one watching Mickey surfing in the closing shots of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 1. Moreover, the tattoo proves that he killed Martha Renteria in season 1. Unfortunately, because of his extra payment to Mickey, he remains an active client for him, meaning Mickey will not be able to disclose any of this information to the authorities.

Does Mickey make it out of Russell’s blackmail?

Fortunately, Russell’s overconfidence brings him down. In episode 2 of the second season of The Lincoln Lawyer, Russell turns to Mickey again after getting a ticket for running a red light.

Mickey agrees to help him and files a trial by writing a declaration on the traffic ticket. He then seals the copy in an envelope which Lorna asks Russell to pick up later that day. Mickey emphasizes that Russell must pick it up that day itself.

It is then shown that during the night of the same day, Russell breaks into the house of Glory Days and tries to kill her. However, before he can cause her any harm, the LAPD comes to the scene and arrests Russell.

It turns out that Mickey purposefully placed Glory’s jail release statements beside Russell’s envelope, knowing that the latter would not be able to resist the temptation of looking through those papers, which also contained Glory’s home address. This is how Mickey laid the setup that finally resulted in Russell’s downfall.

Does Mickey survive the beating he receives in the parking garage?

Mickey walks into a dark, empty parking garage to find his car after looking for Lisa’s contract. He finds the folder with the papers gone. Then, out of nowhere, two men approach him, asking if he is the lawyer from the news.

The Lincoln Lawyer has a proven history of setting up murders in parking garages and thus, the thought of something terrible happening to Mickey is legitimate.

Despite part 1 of season 2 ending with Mickey lying bloodied and unconscious in the parking garage, part 2 shows Mickey recovering in the hospital, surrounded by loved ones, proving he did survive the attack.

Is Maggie moving to San Diego?

Despite being divorced, Mickey and Maggie never really got over each other. At the end of episode 6 in season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer, the ex-couple share a romantic evening, which hints at their reconciliation.

However, it turns out that for Maggie, it was more of a goodbye. The next day, she tells Mickey that she is leaving for San Diego for a position there in the DA’s office. She also tells Mickey that if she doesn’t leave, they will keep returning to each other, which is rather tragic.

Did Lisa murder Mitchell?

After Lisa’s lengthy trial, she is finally found not guilty of murder. Mickey makes his closing statement with the argument that the only reason police found the murder weapon and bloodied gloves so easily was because they were planted on her.

What is the identity of Glory Days?

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 ends with Mickey going to meet a potential new client named Julian La Cosse, played by Devon Graye, who informs him that it was Giselle Dallinger, his friend, who had recommended Mickey to him.

Julian is in for murdering his friend, who he claims he didn't murder. It is the same friend who recommended Mickey to him as a lawyer. Since Mickey cannot remember knowing anyone named Giselle Dallinger, he goes to the medical examiner's office to see the body.

Upon reaching there, it is revealed that the body is Glory Days’s. Glory and Mickey had previously worked together on the case of Jesus Menendez but in season 2 part 1, Glory had informed Mickey that she was moving to Hawaii. Seeing her body takes Mickey back into the past and we can expect this case to be the toughest for him yet, both personally and professionally.

Both seasons 1 and 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer are streaming on Netflix.
